And on a remix of the Sun standout "Manhattan," the Canadian dazed-rap producer Ryan Hemsworth has pushed the song's sonics even further into a drifting, gasping thump. Ryan Hemsworth did a beautiful and moody remix of Cat Power's "Manhattan." Even better, he got Angel Haze to rap on it. Featured on BBC Radio 1, Ryan himself released the radio rip link and download over the weekend. It's easy to miss good releases over the weekend when you're at brunch or out at a bar watching the Heat lose, but I couldn't let you miss this. So much goodness.

Canadian jack of all trades Ryan Hemsworth has been pretty relentless over the past couple of years. Along with solo EPs and album material in 2012, his remix work sees him in high demand from all kinds of artists. This time he's teamed up with Angel Haze to bring a fairly clean cut 'Manhattan' by Cat Power into his own dark urban environment. Download it by heading here .

Ryan Hemsworth's remix work is one part of what makes him a favorite of ours. His ability to make any track his own is pretty goddamn impressive. I mean, you could throw one after another on a mix and it'd sound like a proper album. That's only part of the reason we love his latest remix, which is of Cat Power's "Manhattan". Rather than going solo this time, he's brought along Angel Haze, who spits a slick guest verse to open the track. This pairing might seem odd at first, but you might be surprised to [...]

I've never witnessed a show where the vocalist in question was SO in to his/her art that it kind of spooked me. Chan Marshall channeled a different level as she started off her much anticipated return to Denver getting the giant monkey off of her back performing "the Greatest." As the crowd waited 30 minutes in anticipation, I must have heard at least on three separate occasions, "if she plays the Greatest, I'm going to die." The pristine sound complimented the not so intrusive backdrop of different sceneries taken from different videos. After more than fifteen [...]
