That (c)hat is ridiculous.
but here's the vindication..... Finally! Proof that cats are ________ (fill in the blank)

funny, i didn't really like old skool when it wasn't old. i thought most of it sounded scary. now it reminds me of boy racers who you could hear ten minutes before they arrived, underage nights out and sounds a hell of a lot better than the ish kids have to put up with now. i used to go the clubs, sterns in worthing usually, with my boyfriend. i never enjoyed it as it was usually on a thursday night and i had school the next day and I was [...]
It's no secret that record sales are in the toilet these days, and I don't want to turn this post into another bleak assessment of the music industry. No, I'm here to give a glimmer of hope to all those who have been dropped from a label, laid-off or are just struggling in general. We can save the music industry; there is hope. That hope, my friends, comes from a little band called the Eagles. In November of 1999, the Eagles Eagles: Their Greatest Hits 1971–1975 became the best selling album in the United States after [...]

One of my strongest childhood memories is of my mother relating a bit of family folklore to me. It concerned some great-great-relation of her father's side of the family, a stoically creepy bunch of Old Yankees from Maine's Androscoggin County. This particular relative worked in a lumber mill, and during the course of his duties got his arm stuck in the machinery. As his friends tried in vain to find the best way to extricate the ruined limb from the works, my laterally-thinking ancestor came up with an easy solution -- power up the machinery and let it take the [...]

As you may or may not know, Black Holes drop new shit every other Tuesday and starting today, Cold Blank will be dropping bombs every other Monday. So, its basically guaranteed hotness every week! Anyway, I remember when "The Cat" had just come out , the kids ate the track up like a bowl of Malt-O-Meal. I first heard it in Erol Alkan's 2007 Global Gathering mix and I enjoyed it then, but now... I REALLY enjoy it. Cold Blank seems to give everything he touches a nice face-lift, you'll [...]
This is probably old news to those of you who follow other blogs, but I couldn't help but comment on Spaghetti Cat, a pasta-dining feline that has been popping up in the strangest places as of late. Just earlier in the month, on the Morning Show with Mike and Juliet , the cat suddenly appeared during an episode on binge drinking, and then disappeared as quickly as it came, accompanied by no explanation whatsoever (watch around 0:44): The origins of Spaghetti [...]
"Whatz chu looking at sucka!" So this is our first blog that involves animals and cute pets. So I have this friend name Shelley (aka Shells) from the open road (longest serving radio show on Kfm 106.9), and her fantastic cat named Blade. According to Shells, Blade went missing on the 17th July. So for almost a month, Shell (and her boyfriend Clint) went without Blade's Purring company, and

True story: This morning I sign on to Gmail, where one of my girlfriends notices that I am active before 10 a.m. Yay, me. We chat a bit about random stuff and then she IMs, "are you going to the karaoke fundraiser tonight at barbara's pavillion?" at which point I think to myself, "I haven't heard about it, deadline-deadline-deadline, tonight is 16-year-old dog sitting…" Then I read the event page and think, "Hopefully I can make it." It's true. I do hope I can make it. The event is a small but seriously cool fund-raiser out of [...]

After the tragic death of poor Tessie the Tortoise last June, my wife and the kindhearted folks of the Woburn Feral Cat Coalition tracked down and captured the combined litter of Tessa's and her sidekick Pepi's kittens so that they could be socialized and placed in good homes. One of wee kits managed to dodge the feral kitten round-up and started tagging along with Pepi to our house during feeding times. We named the orange and white ball of fuzz "P.J." as in "pajamas," "Pepi Junior," or perhaps as a subconscious homage to the Intrepid Mariner (and [...]

A cat being somewhat lazy, yesterday. You know, I think I was posting more when I had no time. It may be true when they say that if you want something done ask a busy person. It's been over a month since I escaped from the Open University and got my life back. While much of that time was spent in Canada and London , I've had almost a fortnight back in Maynooth with no obligations at all other than my 9:30-5 in the uni. So, have I been composing fabulously [...]

Sojourning in Islington and somewhat shocked at frequency of sirens and police everywhere. Perhaps this helps.

So much of this is cliche, but deal with it. I am far too busy to update this regularly right now. Seriously. I am busy and important. And I love NYC in a way that can only be portrayed in bad chick lit. But I have these things to say: I am a teaching assistant for a college prep course here. I love it more than life. I want nothing more than to teach. A few of the students have been wonderfully receptive to my comments on their essays, and I love it. I want them [...]

I hate to resort to threats, but it's come to this. SoundRoots has been receiving a record number of hits and downloads. At the end of June, we had to take some content offline because we'd hit our bandwidth ceiling. That pains us, because we're here to help spread the word about global culture, specifically new music that has crept into our hearts. And just reading about the music isn't fun, I know. That's not the bad part, though. We can always get more bandwidth, or find another way of hosting the files. The bad part [...]

Spencer In honor of Spencer, one cool cat. A good friend who liked to nip my coffee, my scotch, and always, my heart. Don't rest in peace, instead have a good go at whatever you do, like you did when you were here. Cheers ol' friend! Below is one of my favorite animated shorts, "The Cat Came Back." The song is a children's folk song originally [...]

Vancouver was so much fun, it was really more vacation than work. I don't normally get to travel with friends so going with Rony and Lauren made it really great. We landed in Canada and almost didn't get in. Rony and I were too lazy to set up work permits so explaining ronys 8 bags of photo gear wasn't the easiest thing in the world haha. Luckily we got in and were greeted by the lovely Lindsays and this sign [...]
