This list was an extremely easy one to do, however, like any lists, I'm sure I've left off more than I care to remember. All I had to do is go to iTunes and click on the songs I played most in 2011. POW! If it were only that easy. Here's a small sampling of my favorite songs of 2011 and I wish the rest of that M83 albums was like "Midnight City." Sigh. C=T Favorite Songs of 2011 Tracklist M83 Midnight City Fred Falke Aurora Cut [...]

Have a good Thanksgiving, guys. I think my friend Todd Roeth summed up a few items we can all be thankful for up above, especially the music and mother's breakfast part. See you guys on Monday. Much of Colorado got their first taste of snow this season and it has a lot of people excited about the white stuff. The weather inspires me to make mixtapes, and today is no exception. I will enjoy my snow-day catching up on missed shows, reading and listening to lots and lots of music. For those of you that are at home playing hooky, enjoy, and those of you that had to work, keep truckin'. Winter Watch Mixtape Tracklisting Molly Nilsson-Hey moon! The Antlers-Corsicana Bloc Party-Blue Light [...]

I put this together for selfish purposes. Mainly because if I don't compile a list right now, I'll forget my favorites by the end of the year. I'm probably missing a lot of acts, but this is what I've been loving for the last several months. The year isn't over and I'm eagerly awaiting albums from Aphex Twin, M83 and U2. Side A Miracle Fortress-Miscalculations Destroyer-Savage Night At The Opera Cold Cave-The Great Pan Is Dead Hercules And Love Affair-Painted Eyes The Strokes-Two Kinds Of Happiness [...]

Tomorrow is the inaugural Neon Desert Festival in El Paso, TX. C=T will have you covered with a recap on Monday, however, before the weekend gets started, we wanted to give you guys a taste of what to expect tomorrow. Have fun and here's to hoping there's a second one in the pipe. If you haven't purchased your tickets, you can do so here and information on how to commute to the festival is right here . Tracklisting Little Boots-Meddle-(DESIGNER DRUGS 802s [...]
Though the revelatory days of their '03/'04 You Forgot It People tour are long behind them, Broken Social Scene remain a live act to be reckoned with. At this point in the set, I was struggling with my freshly broken DSLR so I missed this searing performance of probably the best guitar solo in 2000s indie-rock. (Name a better one. "Last Nite," maybe?) Enjoy. More goodies on the Coachella YouTube page .

Did you guys ever watch that one episode of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' where Larry doesn't go golfing one day because the weather forecaster said there was a chance of rain in the forecast. Larry had to go to the country club for some reason and finds the weather forecaster playing golf with his buddies only to find that the course was empty and only being used by the weather forecaster + friends. This week, the good weather people pulled a fast one on everybody. They claimed that the roads up to Vail were going to be treacherous with [...]

2010 is almost over and I resisted to post this in November. I guess it's a good thing I did. Kanye's new album came in at the end and made quite the splash. It seems every year, this list gets harder and harder to draft. It's near impossible to mention all of my favorite (fill in the blank) on one small list. I will try to spread it out over this month, with best shows, EP, songs, etc..... Best of 2010 ::: Albums Edition Mixtape [mp3] (it's long, be patient) Tracklisting [...]

Happy Thanksgiving Canadians! I'm off to hopefully something like the spread above, but in the meantime, here's a couple links to some good music. - Culture Reject does some more songs for Southern Souls . - We All Want Someone To Shout For features the band Young The Giant . - Cause=Time intro's us to California Wives .

The weather gods have looked upon us and have taken mercy. I looked at the upcoming forecast and this weekend is suppose to be in the 802s and slight chance of showers. Nobody likes to wander around in the sweltering heat, especially when you're half in the bag or extremely elevated. But the meteorologists here in town are 50/50 on everything. So we shall see. The two-day festival kicks off this Saturday and it promises to have a lil' somethin' for everybody. Enjoy this Mile High Music Festival Mixtape to get you in the mood for the [...]
The UMS starts today! Have you decided if you're going to all four days?! Or maybe just a select few. Why not start your weekend tonight! Yes! There's much to see.... My choice for tonight is a band I've been championing for a while, and I'm sure you're dying to see them as well, Candy Claws . They've been through the ringer and the poor guys had to get their gear replaced. The hazy dream poppers will be only doing one performance for the UMS, so don't miss them. This [...]
I love the pace of it. Imposed by the crispest of beats. Winding up and around, before joyfully exploding into a guitar solo of simple, angry elegance. The kind you'd probably take home to your ma, if it didn't have a paper bag over it's head. Broken Social Scene take the Rescue Rooms tonight.

I thought the snow had ended last month, and I'm going insane with the crap weather. I'm all for April showers bring May flowers, but snow in May? At the risk of sounding like the meteorologists that seems to get it right, only 50% of the time, but I see nothing but blue skies for the rest of the week. Spring maybe around the corner, but it's been a bit damp/snowy 'round these parts, and I put together another "Sad Bastard" mix for your listening pleasures. Alexi Murdoch-All My Days Dexateens -Can You Whoop It She & Him -Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want Yo La Tengo -When It's Dark Blitzen [...]

The other day my wife and I had a discussion about why I haven't made her a mix in a long time. I figured, what better day than Valentines to put together some music to profess my undying love for the beautiful woman in my life. I hope she enjoys this as much as I enjoyed putting it together. C=T Valentine's Day Mix 2010 Patsy Cline-Thats How Much I Love You The Marvelettes-When You're Young And In Love Stevie Wonder-I Believe (When I Fall In Love) [...]

I don't know what it is about cold, wet, Autumn days, but I get very inspired to make mixes. It's suppose to snow this Saturday. Saturday is game 3 of the NLDS at Coors Field, where the Rockies face the Phillies. Does it make me less of a fan for not wanting to endure the elements to support the team? I just assume enjoy the game from the warm confines of the bar around the corner on Blake Street where my beers don't' cost $10. Desert Song-Edward Sharpe & The [...]

Music is kind of awesome and all, but sometimes the Best Albums of 2008 lists can get to be monotonous in their lack of variety. You liked Bon Iver? Wow. That's a surprise. (Except for Father Guido's list, of course, which is amazing and you can read/hear it here ) Julio from Cause=Time , however, extended the Best of 2008 list to include "whatever," and he also asked all his blogger/writer/DJ/musician friends for input. The end result is a highly entertaining list of top five t-shirts, Facebook statuses, slang expressions, hot couples, idiotic mistakes, best [...]
