Brooklyn's Caveman continues to hunt towards the April 2nd release of their self-titled sophomore album. The first slice off the record, "In the City" , appeared built for a mid-summer's drive to the beach. Now, they've released a more somber track with "Over My Head", which soundtracks the packing and cleaning up of blankets and beer cans as the coals of the bonfire smoulder. Stream it below. Caveman is due out April 2nd on Fat Possum. They're also out on tour. Caveman 2013 [...]
Full disclosure: I've known the guys in Caveman for a long time. For a brief, glorious moment in 2010, the band's drummer, Stefan Marolachakis, and I were bartenders together in the East Village. He quit bartending when Caveman started to take off (while sadly I did not). In the years since, I've had the pleasure of seeing the band grow from being one of NYC's best-kept secrets to becoming one of the best bands in the city, period. Caveman's moody first album, 20112s CoCo Beware was initially self-released before eventually being snatched up by Fat Possum for re-release [...]

" In The City " fue el cálido primer adelanto que Caveman nos presentó el mes pasado como parte de su nuevo álbum, el cual de manera inicial no me había llamado mucho la atención, pero poco a poco se ha estado ganando un cariño especial ya que las armonías que acompañan cada uno de los cortes de este material homónimo portan con una cierta elegancia, y un confort auditivo que hará que muchos de ustedes también sientan una conexión solida con melodías como "Over My Head". Fat Possum es el sello que se encargara [...]
New material for everyone who is waiting for the self-titled sophomore longplayer by Brooklyn-based indie group CAVEMAN. After the group already gave us a new piece named In The City back in early February, now there comes another song named Over My Head. A very floating and spheric piece of indie-pop it is. Caveman dropped another track from their forthcoming self-titled album to be released on April 2nd via Fat Possum . We hae already heard "In The City" , now listen to the morose "Over My Head". I hear a little bit of John Lennon in this one, which is never a bad thing. Listen below.

Caveman premiered another new cut from their upcoming self-titeld album. It's a warm track called "Over My Head" that takes it's time to fully occupy it's space and time. Take a listen below via the Fader . Caveman comes out April 2 on Fat Possum .

Caveman are a five-piece from New York that are in no way related to the awful '80s film of the same name starring Ringo Starr and Dennis Quaid. However, Caveman are responsible for "In The City," an especially pretty track we heard earlier this year. Now comes another single from their self-titled follow-up to 20112s CoCo Beware , the slow burning "Over My Head." While "Head" begins in a darker place than the sunny pop of "City," the new track's moody guitars eventually give way to a gorgeous chorus that doesn't sound too far from [...]
The latest offering from Caveman sees the New York five-piece continuing to explore the warm, spacious sound that made 20112s CoCo Beware such an inviting debut. "Over My Head" is a rich, art-rock lullaby that's ... read more
(photo by Nathaniel Shannon) We won't go on TOO long about just how the fantastic synths in Caveman's "In The City" should be considered the chorus, and repeated over and over again, regardless of how great the vocals are (live even). The band was named one of Stereogum's 40 Best New Bands of 2011 (so long ago!) [...]

Blogosphere sweethearts Caveman have seen quite the buzz since the 2011 release of debut Coco Beware - the band was featured on the cover of our Summer 2011 NYC issue. After that, the indie psych popsters toured with The War on Drugs, won The Deli's 2011 "Best of Emerging Artists" poll, and in 2012, Fat Possum re-released the celebrated album. 2013 means big things as well; Caveman is preparing to release self-titled album on 4/2. The quintet will kick off a headlining tour including dates at SXSW and Webster Hall later this month. Don't miss the gorgeous, expansive [...]

The intergoogle is going positively nuts over New York band Caveman , take a listen to their new single 'In The City' and decide for yourself! The five piece sound like The Shins meet Beach House to me. Cavemen release the follow up to 20112s 'Coco Beware' on April 2 via Fat Possum (US). Caveman - 'In The City' Visit Caveman [...]

The eighth installment of 110 Percent , a series in which I talk to musicians about sports, features Stefan Marolachakis, the drummer for Brooklyn-based band Caveman , which will release its self-titled sophomore album on April 2 on Fat Possum, a follow-up to its very good and probably very overlooked debut CoCo Beware . Marolachakis took time in advance of the band's 31-city tour to discuss his unyielding passion for the NBA – more specifically, the Knicks. I was born in Chicago and grew up rooting for the Bulls, so we have different perspectives on [...]
Having yesterday featured Tayler Thompson's floridas project, I suppose at this juncture I ought to interject and confess that prior to then, I'd have struggled to tie Victoria down to a particular Canadian territory. After that and now this, I can reliably inform that it's in British Columbia, which locates itself in the westernmost reaches of the country. So don't say that the usual afternoon perusal of various sites, blogs, blah blah blah never taught you anything... Up next over here is Kevin Manning, aka CΛVEMΛN who, a close acquaintance of Thompson, trends in a rather more urban [...]

The five piece from New York City, known as Caveman, released their debut album CoCo Beware in 2011 , which was filled with horizon-wide rock songs both intimate and expansive. Now back with the followup album of the same name, CAVEMAN , the five piece provide a much more expansive and adventurous sound. The new single, "In the City" is said to "boast synth lines that sound simultaneously retro and futurist" while other songs such as "Pricey" which, "overflow with guitar sounds that could have miraculously floated off an old Cure [...]

Apesar do título, “In The City”, a canção passa longe do caótico e te embarca [...]
