Tom Petty 's representatives have reportedly sent a letter to presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann 's camp requesting they cease using his music for her campaign. Bachmann had on several occasions used Petty 's classic track " American Girl " as her campaign song and during campaign events and the musician is requesting she quit.
