Tweet The best Punk music blog on the planet is Battle of the Midwestern Housewives , seriously there is no contest. They earned 'B' in our A to Z and every once in a while we jump on blogosphere tour bus and head on over to check out their latest discoveries. If it wasn't for BOTMHW I'd have pretty much no punk in my life. I'll let you have a minute to digest that sobering fact... Punk ceased to be cool [...]

Today, we're exclusively premiering a new interview with New York's Cerebral Ballzy . The band talked about their sound, how they came together and everything else you might want to know in this short segment. They issued Cerebral Ballzy in 2011.

Listen to buzz punks Cerebral Ballzy cover the Stone Roses' 'I Wanna Be Adored.'

Hello Waveriders! Lately, I have been really hard on music. By this I mean, it has been hard for me to find something I could listen to over and over and not get tired of it. It's been a while since I have been excited about a traditional punk band. When I say traditional punk, I'm talking about old-school hardcore punk. Bands in the vain of Bad Brains, Black Flag, MDC, Suicidal Tendencies or Minor Threat . Bands that meant something and were not just making punk music to profit off it. The band [...]

Considering we're all psyched about The Stone Roses reunion , and partial to the punky ethos of New York's Cerebral Ballzy ( have you seen their video? ), we decided to give this one a go around. Good riddance, too. Whilst visiting Zane Lowe , the tough guy quintet knocked out one splendid, raucous cover of the Manchester royalty's big hit. It's filthy. 'Nuff said. Check it out over at Some Kind of Awesome , and retrace your steps by hearing the original below. The Stone Roses - "I [...]

Living in Manchester, the amount of Stone Roses news/talk you hear on a day to day basis is probably too much to bare to the untrained ear. This though, this we like. New York residents Cerebral Ballzy covered the legendary Manchester band for a Zane Lowe session and the results can be heard below. They certainly made "I Wanna Be Adored" their own. Let us know what you think.
It should have been artlessly apparent to anyone who attended Siberia's Saturday, October 15 showcase of California supergroup Off! and Brooklyn newcomers Cerebral Ballzy - bands who overwhelmingly appear to represent the heart of a new wave of tradition-burning and norm-ducking hard edged music - that it was a categorical smash success for every party involved. For Siberia, a venue barely out of its infancy, the show represented not just the revelrous one year anniversary that it indeed was, but also the coming out of one of New Orleans' greatest overnight successes. Twelve months of day-in-day-out work on [...]
Trapped Under Ice, Big Kiss Goodnight (Reaper) Baltimore isn't the first city that comes to mind when talking about hardcore. Yet the brisk, fulminant rise of Trapped Under Ice compels us to take notice of Charm City. You don't listen to Big Kiss Goodnight; you benchpress it, each of the thirteen cuts a document of [...]

It's time to listen to a bunch of the tracks I have not posted recently. Here is the next NOT POSTED mix. These are just a few of the songs that would get their own individual posts here on GIMME TINNITUS if I only had the time. You can stream (and scrobble ) all the songs in this mix using the ex.fm player at the bottom of the page OR you can just download any or all of the tracks at your leisure and play them using a digital media player of your [...]

Cerebral Ballzy's self-titled debut is less like a homage to the NYHC scene and more like an imitation of it. Formed in 2008 and based out of Brooklyn NY, Cerebral Ballzy is an energetic, fast paced and precipitously mundane album from start to finish. There is a fine line between being influenced by a certain movement and trying to imitate one, and Cerebral Ballzy are constantly teetering on the edge. With a name like theirs, and song titles like "Puke Song", "Sk8 All Day", and "Cutting Class", it's quite obvious that this band is trying to [...]

Finally, I can log in Metalheads! So check out last weeks charts! TW LW Artist Album Label * 1 [...]

Cerebral Ballzy has released yet another video. This time it's for "Anthem" and it's being released by Hot Topic. People are giving them serious shit for working with Hot Topic and even for working with Adult Swim. That's fucking bullshit if you ask me. Labels are broke, fans aren't buying albums or even much merch and here we have a band actually being success in the only way possible these
The entire 2011 CMJ Music Marathon lineup has been posted. CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival is proud to announce that its latest slate of performing acts and artists is its boldest, most exhaustive yet.
