Exercise #3 (Building) is a peek into the contemplative nature of CFCF's new record (which was partly inspired by "institutional architecture and 702s Canadiana" amongst other things), and it is really rather beautiful and hypnotic. A more atmospheric side, driven by piano and layered synths. The first track released from the EP is Exercise #3 (Building) and shows us what to expect. So, less Balearic rhythms, more beautiful textures then. Channelling bits of Vangelis, Philip Glass and Ryuichi Sakamoto, Exercise #3 (Building) is an journey across an electronic panorama with the listener as the passenger. A brand new, 8-piece "mini-album" dubbed Exercises is headed down the pipes, as Silver turns his attention away from balearic beats and shaker-rhythms, instead working out a series of contemplative piano-and-sytnh based instrumentals that draw inspiration out of the likes of Philip Glass, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and David Borden.
