Vampire Weekend's latest album is a worth sequel to 20102s Contra, presenting songs that truly stand on the merits of their memorable writing and lush instrumentation. WATCH THE REVIEW
Singer-songriter Jenny Hval's sophomore full-length has its share of jumbled ideas with obvious inspirations, but sometimes her vocal expressions and songwriting are just enough to keep this album intriguing and somewhat moving. WATCH THE REVIEW

Don't be surprised if you soon find yourself hearing a lot of buzz about a band named Redfoot in the indie community. The NYC band has seemed to have come out of nowhere with a debut single that makes quite a bold statement. "Make It Quick" is a slow burning piece of chamber pop, bringing in inspiration from the '60s and merging the sounds with contemporary indie rock. Tense, nervous vocals seem to tiptoe around the distorted instrumental track, while light drums keep the solemn tune rolling forward. Emotion pours out through the lyrics keeping you within a [...]

Lyterian - Chambers of Apogee EP (NASA006) It's been another week of big tunes hitting the stores and with Christmas fast approaching, there seems to be no evidence of things winding down in the way they have done in previous years. No idea why this is, or in fact whether it's even true but I haven't known a year recently with such a strong release line up planned all the way to the last few working days of the year. Maybe I'm just more in tune with it these days! [...]

Where does love come from? It's a strange concept, this love. It's something that can't be controlled or turned off, it's something that happens for reasons you might not unterstand and at moments you might not want it to or with someone you never expected it. It might last forever or just disappear, it can [...]
London/Berlin-based record label Erased Tapes recently celebrated five years of crossing boundaries between modern classical, post rock and electronica redundant with a very special tour stop in London. Thursday's performance was huge, an emotionally exhausting night filled with delicate neo-classical arrangements and visceral electronic music that invigorated the hall of the East London venue Hackney Empire. Featuring performances by three of its leading artists: collaborative effort A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Icelandic pianist Ólafur Arnalds, and Berlin improv pianist Nils Frahm - not to mention, a special guest appearance by cellist Anne Müller - it [...]
A wonderfully moving ballad from Dirty Projectors, which floats upon a bed of fantastic string sections. I've received quite a few comments saying I was a little unforgiving when it comes to the band's last album ; however, I don't see myself coming around on the LP anytime soon. Such is life. What's I'm happy about is this particular track streaming via the YouTube embed above is appealing to me much more. It showcases a certain sonic clarity and strange beauty that stuns me in a way words cannot explain. While the track does suffer from the [...]
A new video from Canada-born singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright, which lays visuals to the track "Proserpina." It's a song that finds itself on Wainwright's latest album, Come Home To Mama . From the sound of the track, she obviously takes a lot of influence from folk, chamber pop, and French singer-songwriters like Leonard Cohen, which is never a bad thing-especially in this case.

Super Snake From: Union, NJ, USA Lazy equation: A pissed off Tom Waits + Sleazy Rock N Roll + serious bitterness towards exs = Violently styled lyrics over steamy, down-tempo riffs. URL: Facebook // Twitter // Bandcamp Thrash Hits Verdict:
We’ve got one EP of all but four songs to go by, and they’re all winners. HOORAY! As dark and disturbing as the tunes can get, there is also a shameless, exaggerated air to [...]

Ever heard of Peacock Baroque & roll? That's what Yehan Jehan & Antimatter People play. Mix Yeasayer 's taste for experimental music with a hint of Yann Tiersen 's classical influence, add a touch of Tame Impala 's psychedelic waves and you will get a sense of what YJ&AP is like. The teaser fully captures their real music and visual style balancing tension between old and new, tradition and experimentation in an appealing fusion of kaleidoscopes, peacock tails and moon shots. Recorded during a two-night stay in Denmark, this is a live album featuring takes from all the band’s previous studio efforts.
Almost one year ago, Coal Chamber announced a slew of Australian reunion shows. Turns out they were testing the waters. A source close to the band told me once that they didn't think anybody cared about the band, and they were shocked at the overwhelmingly positive response they got at Soundwave. People went nuts. So, ...
