"A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men." -Willy Wonka Bruce Springsteen - "Rocky Ground" Typical Springsteen images of urban decay and social struggle are given a new context behind the hip-hop flavor of Wrecking Ball 's second single. CHAPPO – "Hell No" (NSFW) I would have loved to see the Craigslist casting call CHAPPO put out for this video. Hot Chip – "Night and Day" Now I know what all those [...]
Decisions, decisions, decisions ... your Friday night is full of 'em: ► Best Coast kicks off a three-month tour by headlining the Wiltern behind its new album "The Only Place." Jeff The Brotherhood and Abe Vigoda set the table. ► Dum Dum Girls launch a busy L.A. weekend (they're at the Getty on Saturday) with a show at the Echoplex along with Tamaryn, Young Prisms and Sisu. ► Canadian folk-rockers Great Lake Swimmers headline the Troubadour behind their new album "New Wild Everywhere" (that's the video for [...]
Watch the new video for CHAPPO 's song "Hell No" below, taken from the album "Moonwater". In our second video containing nudity today, this one isn't quite like the other. The boobs in this video have mouths and moustaches (no, seriously) and the bums belong to dudes. Connect with CHAPPO: Facebook | Twitter | Last.fm | Website
What: Brooklyn four-piece CHAPPO give screen time to some legitimate thespians (read: Craigslist ad responders) in the music video for "Hell No" . Look at how they act! The band's debut LP, Moonwater , is in stores now via Majordomo Records Directed by: Ghost+Cow Films

If you think you've never heard of Brooklyn quartet Chappo , you're probably wrong. Chances are you've heard their song "Come Home" in an iPod Touch commercial from two years ago . The track was originally off of their "Plastique Universe" EP, which was followed up by "Plastique Universe II: Pisces Princess" EP. After several short releases, David Feddock, Zac Colwell, Chris Olson, Alex Chappo finally release the album "Moonwater" (which was preceded by an EP of the same name) today as their first full-length via Majordomo Record/Shout! Factory. Over the years Chappo have merged their strong suits [...]
Sleek, glam, and unashamed, Chappo are like the indie cousin of Neon Trees.

What a week this time around... when more than half of the bands sound familiar, it should be a splendid one. Obviously, we don't need to speak to it much more if you've tuned-in to our Weekend Burn . Beach House 's Bloom album should be a must-listen this week. The Cribs are also out with In the Belly of the Brazen . After previewing this album, The Cribs have not done anything notably different or bigger than their last album Ignore the Ignorate . Lots of tracks on [...]

Yeah Okay, You're Right : So it's less than a month away now, and we've not said a word about it (yo, things got hectic around here!), but we're still very excited for the 'roo. You probably already know what Bonnaroo is, but on the off-chance you've been hiding in a cave for the past 11 years, there's a huge music festival that's about to happen on a lovely farm in Manchester, Tennessee from June 7th through the 10th. For a long weekend, music fans flood the small Tennessee town and camp out [...]

You may have thought you'd figured out Chappo during their previous incarnation as alien-fighting, acid-eating, hard-rocking cowboys (the 'Plastique Universe' EP)... but as it turns out, this was only the first stop on their intergalactic tour. For those of you confused by this last statement, you've got some catching up to do, and now is a good time to do it. The band's debut LP 'Moonwater' makes their mission abundantly clear: these guys are here to deliver a serious rock record, for people who desperately need one. And it's not just that they can handle the [...]

Say what you will about Apple, but their iPod licensing department has good taste in music . The latest addition to the brand's Rolodex (file after Caesars) is Brooklyn four-piece CHAPPO , whose song "Come Home" appeared in a recent iPod touch commercial . It's not hard to hear why: Alex Chappo's "Suh-thern" twang kicks dust on the band's swooping background synths, it's like all of a sudden you're listening in Technicolor. In addition to "Home", CHAPPO have recently released another track, "Hell No", off their forthcoming debut LP, Moonwater . It's crunchier than [...]

"Stare. It is the way to educate your eye, and more. Stare, pry, listen, and eavesdrop. Die knowing something. You are not here long." - Walker Evans Fingerbanger 1 : Emika - 3 Hours (don lowed) -- What matters is not whether we live alone, but whether we feel alone. There's ample support for this conclusion outside the laboratory. As divorced or separated people often say, there's nothing lonelier than living with the wrong person. - I want to be alone: the rise and [...]

The quote of the day might be "don't forget the lasers!" CHAPPO came through decked out in fancy feathers and carrying confetti sticks and lasers. I think one of our cameramen got a face full of rainbow colored confetti while filming. So much party times all before noon! Also I think Wes is going to be picking up confetti papers until SXSW 2013. You may also enjoy...: [...]

CHAPPO is a four piece band from the center of the universe - Brooklyn - who create their own special blend of psychedelic soul mixed with space rock and romantic pop. They are prepping to release their debut LP, Moonwater on May 15th, which is so very far away! Thankfully they realize some people have no patience and want instant gratification (people like myself) and are offering a 3 song EP lifted from the LP. The first single off the EP and LP is 'Come Home', which also comes with a trippy, playful and bright [...]

Love Dove February was some kind of month, wasn't it? Punxsutawney Phil was a real son of a gun this year, seeing his shadow and proclaiming another six weeks of winter. Plus I'm pretty sure I paid all my bills incorrectly on account of the ever elusive February 29th leap year day. Now it's March and from coast to coast you'll hear your friends exclaim "I can't believe it's MARCH already!!" Well it's true. March is here and all of us at Kick Kick Snare are happy as clams about it. For us it means a group field [...]
Due out May 15th via Majordomo Records.
Filed under: News , Video , Exclusive , New Music Courtesy of Chappo Brooklynite band Chappo 's self-proclaimed goal is to lead their listeners on a "journey of phantasmagorical transcendence." As weird as that sounds, these guys actually hit pretty close to the mark. Their latest effort, 'Bodies Coasting,' is a tale of underwater romance and offers a window to the world illustrated in their second of two EPs released to date, [...]

CHAPPO is coming off a busy summer/fall, playing an array of sweaty, confetti covered clubs, releasing their inner moon shamans on the regular, recording and self-releasing their second concept EP as well tracking their debut full length album, which is due out in the spring 2012. Their first EP Plastique Universe was touted for it's "excellently overstuffed garage psyche sound" by Pitchfork and the lead off track " Come Home " was featured on an Ipod touch commercial last fall. CHAPPO has also received much praise for their lives shows - they played for The Deli at CMJ 2010. [...]
