Tonight Tracasseur will play records on a secret island in the archipelago of Stockholm. This outdoor event will take place on a small island that still have some of the old military buildings left from the time when Sweden expected to be invaded by the Russians. Today the Russians invades us with great music instead like Tesla Boy and Upstation. The party is arranged by two other dj crews named Crash Location and gr8n . Crash Location's thing is to crash new locations for parties, this time it was time to crash an island. We promised them [...]

Citadels - The Chem Song (Charlie Fanclub Remix) ( Mediafire ) Recommended Charlie Fanclub Myspace

I've beaten the system, whilst my net is dead I can still just forward emails to work where we get a couple mb upload speeds!! People would be quick to judge the Citadels as just another electronic indie band trying to wade through the flood of wannabes, gonnabes and nevereverbes. Taking the time to listen to the guys (and gal) it sticks me that they have the equation right. Five band members in total running amock on a collection of guitars, keyboards, bass and drums, couple this with the less morbid muse [...]
Here is a preview only remix of Citadels 'Golden Islands' from Charlie Fanclub. Check it out kidsCitadels Golden Islands Charlie Fanclub Remix Links: www.myspace.com/citadelsmusic

Wow! I was really impressed with this track. First we have the alternative/indie act Citadels which sounds like happier Blonde Redhead with more synths, and is lovely all by themselves. And as the tides turn, we need a 'lil more dancier-version for electro-fags like myself which is done flawlessly by Charlie Fanclub , he kept most of the cool synths and just thickened up the sound and made it more bouncier. Citadels - Golden Islands (Charlie Fanclub Remix)
Got a new remix for you guys. This time it comes courtesy of, UK producer Charlie Fanclub . He has remixed London band Citadel 's track Golden Islands into an awesome synth pop track. On of my favorite parts of this track is the synth melody it opens up with. It's haunting but so melodic at the same time. As the track builds it slowly morphs into this 80's-esque disco beat that fits perfectly with lead singer Stef Ferguson's voice Definitely check out the original and some other tracks by Citadel on their mysapce [...]

It's always a pleasure to instantaneously know what you want to blog about. There are groups out there that when they send you something, you drop what you're doing and you listen. DW is one of those groups. They continue to build upon my Swedish music fetish with their seductive synths and distorted, yet beautiful vocals. DW had previously hooked up with French producer Daroc to create one of my favorite tracks of the year "Hypnotic France." The track is truly mesmerizing, blissful, hypnotic, French (and Swedish). [...]

What a gift in the form of an email! I'm happy. I really looked forward to listening to the original track and the remixes of Daroc and DW's Hypnotic France . 'Cause a release like this can't go wrong, you know? If it did, I would cry. When you take artwork like DW's and high profiles in the bloghouse world the odds are stacked on you side. And son, let me tell you. This is really "hypnotic" like the title says and I love when artists actually adds vocals to their tracks, it's risky but [...]

We've written about Daroc and DW 's collaboration "Hypnotic France" in a previous post . Today Kilian from DW sent us two awesome remixes of the track by Charlie Fanclub and Pelifics . Both are beautiful laidback pieces of music perfect for a lazy sunday. Daroc ft. DW - Hypnotic France (Charlie Fanclub Remix) Daroc ft. DW - Hypnotic France (Pelifics Remix)
Sydney electro/thrash kid, DISTRAKT , is here to rescue you from that overplayed, top 40 junk that is being brainwashed into your head daily. Formerly a part of the Fabric Dj's , this producer/dj has been making a fuss around the blog world. He describes his style as "new age banging maximal electronic distorted noize." Ill let the music do the talking, here ya go! DISTRAKT- Razor(320kbps) DISTRAKT- [...]

psychedlic: both remixes kind of loose themselves in a sound mist. the first one takes you in a subtle way, the other one doesn't hesitate throwing your thoughts in the darkest possible place. the fuckbuttons remix may seem a little bit harsh, but the melody shows a rare devotion to shoegaze and post-rock. ratatat - mirando (animal collective remix) fever ray - if i had a heart (fuckbuttons remix) house: basic wobblin bassline catchy vocals. reminds me of the DTTT's fancy footwork remix, or basically every [...]

So as I said in past posts Fidget and Wonk is amazing music that i'm really into right now and can define my music taste to certain extend. I want to let you know that you will see a lot of that here in THE PURPLE RHINO in the next months to come so lets kick it off with what is going on in our ipod this morning........ A massive amount of wonkie sounds. [...]

3am or 3pm, Tzero is looking good in that wig. In fact, he looks like a real brawler. I wouldn't mess with him. Heads We Dance - The Human Touch (Charlie Fanclub Remix) The Presets - Talk Like That (Dave Spoon Mix )

This is a the first major release from Derby-based Charlie Fanclub (aka Louis Rodgers). It dropped in late October, and despite it containing some brilliant tracks, has somehow managed to stay under the radar for the most part. It's out on Kris Menace's label, Work It Baby (who have released EP's by Fred Falke and Patrick Alavi amongst others). First heard this guy on a Global Underground mix by Felix Da Housecat and have been dying to get my hands on his EP ever since. It's a varied experience with each of the four tracks offering something [...]

I really should be studying for my exam on monday but procrastination is so much fun.... The Ting Tings - We Walk Heads We Dance - The Human Touch (Charlie Fanclub Remix) Heartsrevolution - Ultraviolence (Les Petits Pilous Remix) Share/Save

We haven't mentioned anyone from the Bordeaux electro circle here for a while, so I guess that means it's time to visit one of my favourites, who for some reason I haven't posted about before, Julien Milan . The 25-year-old Bordeaux native made his live debut four years ago in London, and last year signed to Julien Minet's bourgeoning label, Boxon Records . His latest project is a remix of Taken Away for Digitalism's recently-closed remix competition, and it's amazing. But until the competition winners are announced, Milan is keeping that puppy well and [...]

Eighties synthpop is a total guilty pleasure of mine. After years of self-indulgence I've come to the conclusion that synthpop is a bizarre genre. For whatever reason, so much of the dark, industrial-tinged arm of synth music gets grouped right alongside the upbeat and pop-influenced. This juxtaposition within the genre never made much sense to me until recently. Leeds trio Heads We Dance recently sent a couple tracks our way that blend the upbeat melodic side of synthpop with the dark and grinding. To call their work pure synthpop though would be inaccurate. Heads We Dance [...]
