Charlotte Gainsbourg, the songstress and actress, recently debuted a video for her edgy and anxious song "Terrible Angels." A bouncing synth almost irritatingly pulses like a headache (which isn't surprising since Gainsbourg sings "my head is pounding") throughout the track, as scratchy guitar distortions contrast against Gainsbourg' subdued vocals.
Charlotte Gainsbourg is back with a ton of new stuff. She's got an EP called Terrible Angels out Sept 6th through Because Music/Elektra - which includes a cover of Bob Dylan's "Just like a Woman" and two music videos. September 6th sees the release of Charlotte Gainsbourg's Terrible Angels EP ( Because Music/Elektra ) featuring two unreleased songs - the Conor O'Brien/Villagers-penned "Memoir" and this title track, written and produced by Beck. Also included on the EP are two videos, one of which is this Nathalie Canguilhem-directed video. Charlotte Gainsbourg fans are spoiled. First there was a new video, now a previously unreleased track. 'White Telephone', added to the dvd that's enclosed with the French magazine Courrier International , is a beautiful track that sounds like a leftover from the 5.55 sessions. Various strings, a floating, Air-ish bassline, some fx, her husky voice. What a treat. VERY different from the new single (below). Mille fleurs to Antoine for sending me this track.
