La participation de Cheb Mami au Festival du Monde Arabe (FMB) qui aura lieu le 26/11/2011 a été annulée car le prince du rai avait essayé d'avorter son ex-petite amie et ce d'une manière sauvage et il a été en prison depuis pour 2 ans. Il est donc mal accueilli au Canada. Par ailleurs, le chanteur algérien chantera le 5 novembre 2011 au Zénith de Paris.

بعد ان سجن الشاب مامي في السّجون الفرنسية بتهمة تعنيف صديقته الفرنسية ، قررت السلطات الفرنسية الموافقة على إطلاق السراح المشروط ، وذلك بعد ان تحاكم لمدّة 5 سنوات على هذا العمل . يقال أن الشاب مامي قد عنّف صديقته لأنها اعلنت حملها منه ، وحاول إجهاضها لكن هذه التّجربة باءت بالفشل والآن المولودة في عمر الثلاثة اعوام .
