Philly psych-pop four-piece Cheers Elephant brought a high-energy set to the Philadelphia City Hall courtyard yesterday evening for the City Hall Presents summer concert series. The fourth annual Caravan Music Festival will once again bring a boatload of Philadelphia bands to the woods of Maine of a three day concert of music, fun, lake swimming, exhaustion, and who knows whatall else. XPN welcomes Charles Bradley to Union Transfer tonight. The "Screaming Eagle of Soul" entertained the crowd during a recent Free at Noon performance with his exuberant showmanship and knock-out funk / R&B songs. Cheers Elephant at Pastorius Park, 2011 The Chestnut Hill Community Association has released details for their annual free concert series , kicking off on June 19th with Suzie Brown and running through July 31st with John Train. Cheers Elephant are back in their old stomping grounds after an extensive national tour and stop at SXSW. Their most recent release Like Wind Blows Fire is rock through rose-colored glasses - the same rosy pink that dominates the LP's cover art. The pop-rock outfit keeps their sound relatively simple and put together. It's the effects-laden guitar, played by Jordan Del Rosario, which gives them their psychedelic feel. Combine this with a tight drum kick by Travelin' Matt, deep bass lines from Robert Kingsley, and dreamy, low-key vocals by Derek Krzywicki, making for [...]

Here's a new session from our pals at HotBox Studios with Cheers Elephant performing "Peoples," the opening track from 2012's Like Wind Blows Fire . The band is beginning an extensive tour tomorrow in Nashville that will end towards the end of April. They'll be back in Philly on Thursday, April 4 to open for Darwin Deez at the First Unitarian Church.
