Tomorrow night marks an incredible opportunity to those lucky few of you in the Central Illinois area. That opportunity will be to see the one and only Chicago Farmer, Cody Diekhoff, playing an intimate apartment show courtesy of the Illinois State Music Business Association . Full Disclosure- I am a non-student member of the Music Business Association, but I am still incredibly stoked about this concert. Along with Chicago Farmer will be other locals, Jake Mehalic and This is My Mess . There will be a small cover of $2.00 [...]
As we wind down this wonderful year, I'd love to share some Exclusive ThaBombShelter content with you all. Cody is originally from Central IL hence his second release title, "From a Small Town in IL." He made the move to Chicago a few years ago and has become an integral part of Chicago's underground & folk scene. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform this past [...]

Last night I was finally able to make my way to the Black Box theater to see Central Illinois' own Chicago Farmer. His real name is Cody Diekhoff, and he is a man with an incredible talent for sincere, funny, raucous, warm, intimate, mellow folk music. He plays the guitar with the skill and speed of an accomplished banjo picker, but he strums and coos like the true folk guitarist that he is. It was autumnal and cozy, familiar, new, and perfect. The venue contributed to a good portion of the sentiment I felt last [...]
