This post is very random because the two songs here are exactly that, random. They wouldn't exactly fit anywhere else but I wanted to share them because they're quite good and dislocate my senses in weird ways. First, Os Gru left us this remix at our MySpace with the most intriguing question: A vosotros los del club, os mola bailar, verdad? Pues os dejamos por aquí nuestro last mix . Of course que nos mola bailar, and especially if we know the song, and oh we really know this [...]

Straight from the ol' inbox comes adorable Mexican synthpop duo, Children of the Moon. They describe the music they make together as "cuteweird" and I admit that I can't think of a better word. That pretty much sums them up musically and they both totally look the part. With beats slightly similar to Sweden's Lo-Fi-Fnk or The Knife and bright vocals running through a vocoder, their tunes remind me of getting drunk and having a good time. I like that, plus their stuff is so very catchy and easy to groove along to. They are currently working on their currently [...]

Don't let a certain flu scare you away from these Mexicans! Children of the Moon are from Guadalajara in México and describe themselves as "cuteweird". Their music is actually quite cute, there's a certain lullaby-quality in there that I find soothing. I love the bedroom recording-atmosphere in their songs, especially in the Julie Ruin-esque "Peter Pan"! Two great happy songs for you today, the first one comes from Children of the Moon, an electro duo from Guadalajara that I'm digging a lot; is the project of Femmeboy and Iñigo, the former a quirky girl with a great voice, and the latter is a very cool DJ with several projects under his belt, one of them, Mutantek, previously featured on two of Club Fonograma's Rocolas. They're recording their first EP, there will be songs in Spanish!, that exclamation mark is necessary since we don't get too much electro en Español, and just like that this becomes one [...]

It's my pleasure to introduce Children of the Moon, a duo from Guadalajara, Mexico formed by Iñigo & Femmeboy. They describe their sound as something cuteweird, where Iñigo makes the sounds & Femmeboy provides the childish voice. The duo is currently working on their debut EP which will be release later in August but they decided to send over a couple of tracks for us to enjoy! These tunes are in English but expect some Spanish on the rest of the EP. "Peterpan" | download [...]
