Movies: Eagle vs. Shark; I've been a fan of the cute indie romantic comedy since I can remember. Perhaps it's my inner romantic poking it's head out from inside the dark hearted soul that is my being, or maybe I just like the characters which are usually given some quick witted, quirky lines in all these movies. In Eagle vs. Shark most of your standard plot lines apply. Girl crushed on boy, boy
The Sun is reporting that Amy Winehouse and superproducer Mark Ronson have begun work on the theme song for the new James Bond flick, Quantum Of Solace (Nov. 7th). An inspired choice, if not just because "Amy Winehouse" is a perfect Bond girl name... MP3: Chris Cornell - "You Know My Name" ...

The best-selling album of all time, sampled by current hitmakers like Rihanna and Kanye, it just received a flaccid "25 Anniversary" edition with covers that sound just the originals…but shittier. So here is how they should have done it, some songs drastically reinvented, other turned into smooth jazz jams. Think you've got a better version of any of these songs though? As always, let me know. It's close to midnight… -Update: New feature being added to all the Full Album posts. When the individual link expires, there will still be a rapidshare link [...]

Chris Cornell's amazing live acoustic performance. The gig that would change his mind and put an end to Audioslave! CHRIS CORNELL in SWEDEN. It was about a year ago that Audioslave's Chris Cornell officially announced to the world he was leaving the band he helped to create. The departure decision appears to have coincided when the group had reached it low point creatively (some time following the release of Revelations - the band's third studio album) at a time when [...]

Although he's been the frontman for one of the grunge pioneers with Soundgarden ,before the early '90 hard rock bum and also the lead singer for one of the most iconic rock groups of the new millenium Audioslave , Chris Cornell feels better riding alone. According to him "I am in a situation where I can kind of spontaneously make decisions and do whatever I feel like doing," he says. "Any future ideas in terms of recordings or collaborations I want - it's all kind of materializing. I'm finally realizing anything is possible." And [...]

I was recently talking to a merch guy at the Bluebird, and was stoked to find out that CU Denver has a neat-looking degree program in Music Industry Studies with their very own student-run record label. Equally cool are the breadth of courses offered at Berklee (not Berkeley) School of Music . I always thought Berklee (in Boston) was just a high-falutin music performance school, like if you're really really good on the cello, you go there. But they also have courses in songwriting, music business, music production, film scoring etc that you [...]

Summer is heating up and so is the Philly music scene. Friday night I'll be at the Guster and Ben Kweller show on Festival Pier . Chris Cornell is at the Borgata in Atlantic City, so gamble a little, then rock out. Or you could just wait until Sunday and check him out at the Electric Factory . The Grand Opera House in Wilmington is hosting a sold out White Stripes show. If you don't have tickets to that show, good luck. They are going for [...]

Has it really been 10 years since the death of Jeff Buckley? I'm not very fond of celebrating death, but this is a very special case. I've always wanted to write a little something about his music's impact on my life, and this seems as best a time as any to do so. Today we grieve, but his music will always live on and a telling fact of how influential he still is with people discovering his music everyday. I would like to explain where I'm coming from with this. Around the time I was a freshman in [...]

Oh, man , this would have been so cool to attend. Chris Cornell (oh he of the mighty pipes, the Soundgarden/Temple Of The Dog/Audioslave legacy) played last night in Seattle at the Fenix Underground , a "private" show for fans and some Microsoft folks (?). 100 tickets were given away to fans through his MySpace for this cozy gig with a killer, killer setlist. Most of my favorite Cornell songs are here in fine form, as well as a handful off the new [...]

I guess the song's been floating around for a while now, but I was just made hip to the Chris Cornell cover of 'Billie Jean' this past week. And since the first listen, I've been sold on it. It's rhythm and blues at its best. Cornell takes me back to his Soundgarden days, and for the first time (much like Laswell's cover of Lauper), I paid attention to the lyrics, which brought the song alive for me. It's beautifully done, and it's going to be on the upcoming Cornell album in June. So check out [...]

look at that sexy son of a bitch! you cant strike a better cockstar pose than that, people. chris cornell is not chris cornell without the flowing locks, i dont care what anyone says. ever since i heard "hands all over" back when i was 16, chris cornell has always been the epitome of what a rockstar should be. even though i have not approved of his most recent affiliations, i still have the soundgarden records to remind me. i miss kim thayil. here he is live and acoustic peformance in sweeden. 1. doesnt remind me [...]

As I said before, there is a temporary hiatus from my usual posts (the live shows, new release reviews and artist profiles) until after the pending holiday passes. I just have too much stuff going on and, like you, the musicians on this page deserve attention. Artist: Bansky Here are some mp3s which I hope will get you through... [...]

Hello readers. This is Volume Twelve of the celebrated blog radio series. This post is a little different than the other entries I share with you on a daily basis. These songs are ones I am listening to from the depths of my music collection. Some are newer tracks and others are recurrent classics. Completing the Blog Radio posts each week to 10 days has always proven an interesting exercise in both creativity and in connection. I tell you what I am listening to and hopefully that brings us (you and I) just a bit closer. Sometimes the [...]
