Chris Cornell Has A New Album & Video, "The Keeper"

Chris Cornell is guilty of making one of the worst solo albums ever. He is also guilty of making one of my all-time favorite solo albums, Euphoria Morning. So what can we expect with this one? Well, the good news is he's back in Soundgarden and playing guitar again. He also has ditched Timbaland (thank you big baby Jesus)! And furthermore he did a solo acoustic tour recently. Based on the first

Chris Cornell: "The Keeper" (video)

While there hasn't been a flood of new material, it has still been a fairly busy year for Chris Cornell. First there was a Soundgarden reunion tour and live album release. Now he's returned with a new video for the song "The Keeper".  The song is from the soundtrack to the new film Machine Gun Preacher. Here's the video for "The Keeper" (thank god he's got long hair again):

Interview: Chris Cornell

Interview: Chris Cornell Chris Cornell has been a busy, busy man. From the time his iconic Seattle band, Soundgarden , broke up in 1997, Cornell has kept himself fully immersed in everything from his evolving solo career to fronting the supergroup Audioslave to co-writing songs with American Idol ’s David Cook. He’s even been dabbling in the film industry, contributing “You Know My Name” for Casino Royale , as well as the song “The Keeper” for Marc Foster’s latest film, Machine Gun Preacher , which is now playing. But by far the greatest thing [...]

[Watch] Chris Cornell - "The Keeper" Live on Letterman

Last night on David Letterman's late night TV slot, Chris Cornell , the man that fronted the legendary Soundgarden took to the stage with his acoustic guitar to put in a nice performance of "The Keeper" which features on the soundtrack for Machine Gun Preacher . Check out the performance at the top of the page courtesy of the tireless Audio Perv .

Chris Cornell:

Just when you thought Chris Cornell had got his career back on track by doing the decent thing and reuniting Soundgarden, here he is again taking a step back by resurrecting his (mostly awful) solo career. The singer has a track on the soundtrack to Machine Gun Preacher titled "The Keeper," and here he is performing it with minimal accompaniment on David Letterman's show. Thankfully, he seems to have left the Scream era behind him, instead constructing a track that's reminiscent of Led Zeppelin's more contemplative moments—in other words, something that plays to his strengths. He [...]

Video: Chris Cornell woos Letterman with “The Keeper”

Video: Chris Cornell woos Letterman with “The Keeper” Teens are still rocking Nirvana tees, Pearl Jam has the ability to curate their own festival, and Soundgarden are set to headline Voodoo Music Experience 2011. In all, it seems Seattle grunge maintains a firm grasp on the hearts and minds of rock enthusiasts. But after more than 20 years the artists have undeniably changed... did anyone back in 1995 see Ukulele Songs or Scream on the   horizon? Last night, Soundgarden's legendary frontman Chris Cornell took to the Ed Sullivan stage with just an acoustic guitar, one of rock's most amazing voices, and his cohort [...]

CoS on Film: Singles (1992)

CoS on Film: Singles (1992) Let us beat past the arduous task of re-explaining everything we've mouthed on at great length about here , here , and here . With numerous members of our staff pushing 30, it's no surprise that we have such a loyal early-902s fan base amongst us. We were likely born in a cloud of Aqua Net, only to be raised by ravaging alt-rock wolfpacks, and we're goddamned proud of it! For those 702s alumni out there who could stage dive at Alice Cooper with the best of 'em... stop pickin' on me or I'll use my Wayne [...]

From floating atop a surfboard in the Pacific Ocean to rolling through 30+ songs at Alpine Valley in East Troy, WI, Vedder has lived an envious dream [...]
