Such was the case on this night when I found none other than the music video of "Fireflies" by an artist named Chris Garneau (No, not that " Fireflies "!), which has a Legend of Zelda theme. Max Tundra No More Pirates [mp3] from Chris Garneau 's recent El Radio , haunting and elegant. Garneau's voice, similarly quirky to Ryan Guldemond's ( Mother Mother ), betrays his gender and age, at times forming stylized pop bubbles ala Ingrid Michaelson - only playfully dark and weighty, sometimes dramatically broadway, often sounding like a doe-eyed child. Chris Garneau's quirky pop music seems to float through midair, his tinkling piano and gentle strings carrying a voice so featherweight at at times it seems like the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter doesn't want to wake his neighbors up. His sophomore album, "El Radio" (just out on Absolutely Kosher), was recorded in the sticks in New Hampshire and sounds like it, a folk/baroque tour of all things sylvan. L'an dernier j'avais vu Chris Garneau sur scène, j'en avais frissonné de bonheur. Au milieu des titres beaux et tristes de son premier album, on avait pu découvrir quelques inédits plus joyeux, plus joueurs. Parmi eux, ce Lucioles , version franco-anglaise de Fireflies , un titre présent sur son deuxième album El Radio (dont vous pouvez lire la chronique ici ). Lucioles n'est pas sur l'album, mais uniquement sur le CD bonus présent sur l'édition limitée en vente chez Fargo . Je vous la recommande.

Max Tundra No More Pirates [mp3] from Chris Garneau 's recent El Radio , haunting and elegant. Garneau's voice, similarly quirky to Ryan Guldemond's ( Mother Mother ), betrays his gender and age, at times forming stylized pop bubbles ala Ingrid Michaelson - only playfully dark and weighty, sometimes dramatically broadway, often sounding like a doe-eyed child. Chris Garneau's quirky pop music seems to float through midair, his tinkling piano and gentle strings carrying a voice so featherweight at at times it seems like the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter doesn't want to wake his neighbors up. His sophomore album, "El Radio" (just out on Absolutely Kosher), was recorded in the sticks in New Hampshire and sounds like it, a folk/baroque tour of all things sylvan. L'an dernier j'avais vu Chris Garneau sur scène, j'en avais frissonné de bonheur. Au milieu des titres beaux et tristes de son premier album, on avait pu découvrir quelques inédits plus joyeux, plus joueurs. Parmi eux, ce Lucioles , version franco-anglaise de Fireflies , un titre présent sur son deuxième album El Radio (dont vous pouvez lire la chronique ici ). Lucioles n'est pas sur l'album, mais uniquement sur le CD bonus présent sur l'édition limitée en vente chez Fargo . Je vous la recommande.
