Well it's another week down and there's a definite need for some respite before heading into the next. Luckily, we've got you covered again this Sunday with another list of mellow tunes for you to just sink into and let your mind drift away. Our first feature sets the standard for vibe we're looking for this week, with German artist Satin Jackets reworking the soothing voice of Aaliyah into a tropical disco masterpiece. This is the kind of music so beautiful it can shrink all life's problems into insignificance to [...]
Weekdays are for grinding, Saturdays are for raging, and Sundays were made to just sit back and chill. There couldn't be a simpler recipe to life than that, and there couldn't be a simpler way to assemble a perfect Sunday playlist than the second instalment of the Chill Dojo. Following up on the standard set by the inaugural edition , another host of pleasant tunes await for all those who have waited all week for some serious downtime. Shook again features amongst the standout tracks for this dojo with the [...]
It's getting increasingly difficult to think of G-Eazy as a purely, or even relatively, local musical entity. With an unobtrusive omnipresence both on and off the stage that's manifested itself in New Orleans as a devoted and semi-hysterical following, it can be hard to accept (though not that hard to imagine) that the same slick-parted statue of a figure who you've seen rip a room to shreds with a near-perfect lyrical balance of heady annunciation and a borderline mumblecore delivery is also doing the same phenomenal work in his hometown of Oakland to arguably just as much fanfare; [...]
G-Eazy manages to squeeze in a banger before 2011 comes to a close. The man has had a busy year with graduating, releasing Endless Summer , and touring with Shwayze . 2012 will be even bigger. "Lost In Translation" samples " PONPONPON ". G-Eazy seriously has the biggest comfort zone. Download G-Eazy Lost In Translation G-Eazy Lost In Translation
MyNameIsJohnMichael + G-Eazy + Christoph Andersson performing at Tipitina's on September 15, 2011 Tweet
09.15: MyNameIsJohnMichael + G-Eazy + Christoph Andersson - Tipitina's For proof that New Orleans' fledgling independent music scene has been turning an exciting corner in the last 18 months, one need look no further than the bill for Thursday night's show at Tipitina's. Headling the diverse showcase is John Michael Rouchell, an artist who would be considered an old guard of the local indie movement if he had not spent the last year reinventing and retooling his unique sound in an arduous process that, if the two songs leaked from his forthcoming album are [...]

Getaway by Christoph Andersson
First I would like to give credit to our one and only Whiteface for this photo taken from the Tower of Ultra stage last Sunday during one of Skrillex's 236498276340 sets he played last week. How did he gain access to get such wonderful camera angles that, to the normal festival goer, are nothing more than a pipe dream? The spirit of Vacay, that's the fuck how. Our beloved Jon decided that watching Boys Noize from the sideline just was not cutting it so he took it upon himself to walk backstage, act like he owned the place, and bitch [...]
Early last week I introduced you all to New Orleans’s groove producer Christoph Andersson . This week, we’re proud to post about him again due to some recent, exciting news. First off, today marks the release of his latest EP “Getaway” - take a relaxing listen and download the mp3 below. We are also psyched to announce that he will be making his debut in Washington DC next month as a guest DJ at Bliss on April 23rd ! And did I mention he's only 19?! - this has to be a record [...]
Teen electro-pop artist Christoph Andersson is finally wrapping up his EP next week with this song, "Getaway", the third in a set of releases that the young man put out one at a time on his own record label, Hurst Recordings. Smooth and loungey, "Getaway" is pleasurable dance pop that isn't trying to hard to [...]

Christoph Andersson debuted just last Fall and has progressively introduced a series of EP’s which have released massively-addictive toxins of neo-disco and funky synth rhythms. This 19 year-old is originally from Washington DC and has since lived for a few years in Germany until now residing in New Orleans. This array of traveling may have sparked inspiration for his relaxing, atmospheric tracks since New Orleans hasn't had much of a music production reputation similar to what Christoph is creating. Christoph followed up in 2011 with the release of his “Metropol” EP in January and, as [...]

Young Christoph Andersson from New Orleans has produced a swirling disco pop gem in his track "Metropol." A thumping house bassline accompanied by chirping keys and sampled vocals make this a simple song. Intro, Verse, Chorus, Verse and outro. That's all you need. Put together by Christoph he's captured a heart warming feel. It isn't [...]

Happy Friday everyone. I'm on the road this weekend, which means I probably won't get a chance to post again for a few days (but what else is new?) Nonetheless, I've got some great music lined up for you all today. For starters, we got two new tracks from Fake Blood and John Roman (!!!) as well as new remixes from Flux Pavilion and Dubbel Dutch. Last up are two more tropical tracks from Velour and Cristoph Andersson that just might help you forget the fact that we're right in the middle of the most miserable part of winter. [...]
