After a little break from our Food-Week due to current happenings, we finally get back to this wunderful topic now. Being a vegetarian myself, I feel the need to write something about this subject ! I'm normally noone who is obstrusively convincing people with my belief because I already got tired of the discussion and the bullheaded opinions of carnivores , but sometimes I think, that people should overthink their behaviour a bit more. Especially in the [...]
Chris Walla, between his membership in Death Cab for Cutie and production work with the Decemberists, Nada Surf, Tegan and Sara, et al., has been a contributing member to the Pacific Northwestern music scene for upwards of a decade. But unless you count a lo-fi cassette made in 1999 under the name Martin Youth Auxiliary, this is the first time he's paused to compile a collection of his own work. I've been surprised by the mixed nature of the reactions to Field Manual so far, in that some of the harshest criticism seems to be [...]

Not to brag or anything, but yours truly is now in Technorati's top 1 million blogs at a stunning 944,869! Boo yah! Pretty soon I'll be breaking the 800,000 mark and the top 10 a little after that. All sarcasm aside, I still find myself with no internet, but the blogging must go on. Here's some juicy links from around the music filled interweb. The Torture Garden's best songs of 2006 . Which led me to find the first album I know I'll love, but missed in '06 somehow [...]

Chris Walla has made a name for himself as a producer, as well as guitarist, for 'indie to major label' band, Death Cab For Cutie. Since around 1998, Walla has also been involved in a solo project he calls Martin Youth Auxiliary. But in the past seven years only one recording has been released, 1999's self-titled cassette on Elsinor Records. On his website is word that he will finally release, through Barsuk, a new solo work in March 2007. Walla has a number of mp3s offered on his website. From covers' [...]
