Recientemente Chromatics realizaban una estupenda versión del tema cláisico del maestro de Neil Young & Crazy Horse de 'Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)' de 1979 incluido en su gran álbum 'Rust Never Sleeps', y una frase del team fue utiliza en la nota de suicidio de Kurt Kobain ("it's better to burn out than to fade away"), la versión de Chromatics esta en Free Download y en formato WAV, y ahora desde Portugal, el dúo de Voxels se han encargado de realizar un estupendo [...]
The year isn't half over yet. We know that. But since everyone starts unveiling their year-end lists in November, we figured we wouldn't be too far out of pocket if we unveiled our favorites of the 2012 calendar year the week before Memorial Day. Our favorite album of the year (so far) is the one on which a talented young band teamed up with a production hero of the '90s and immersed themselves in the decade's hard, chunky, scraping, anthemic rock music. There's no drift at all in Cloud Nothings' Attack On Memory - just forward [...]

Good morning Sun. Across the world, young men and women graduate higher education bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready for the many challenges they will soon meet. Meanwhile the rest of us are left to stare into the mirror and ask ourselves where the last four years went. A bunch of twenty somethings wondering why they still feel like just yesterday they were the ones dressed head to toe in a cap and gown. Hats were thrown, champagne bottles ceremoniously opened, and offer letters signed. Then suddenly you're not young anymore. Well new graduates, welcome to the real world of happy [...]

As we mentioned yesterday , GvsB II goes down Saturday, July 28 , at the esteemed Granada Theater here in Dallas. We are beyond psyched about this year's show, which promises to be the party of the summer thanks to an incredible lineup, featuring Italians Do It Better labelmates Glass Candy + Chromatics , Twin Sister, Taken By Trees, Laurel Halo , and Dallas' own A.Dd+ . Here's a mixtape we put together that barely scratches the surface of the bill's collective greatness, but it should help [...]

by Bill Pearis While he's been hot stuff in his home of Los Angeles for a while, retro-styled R&B bandleader Nick Waterhouse is now gaining traction in New York too. His show this Saturday (5/19) at Mercury Lounge is now sold-out and he's been added to the line-up of the Village Voice 4Knots Festival at South Street Seaport on July 14. In between -- next weekend to be specific -- he'll [...]
Shrag had been due to launch their single at Madame JoJos on June 5th. Had been. Not any more : We're depressed to have to tell anyone that's interested that our single launch show on Tuesday 5th June at Madam JoJo's, which we were playing along with Evans the Death and Ace Bushy Striptease, has been cancelled, because the 'promoter' (White Heat) decided it was best to pull our show - with less than three weeks to go - for a bigger band who were suddenly available and who will probably make them more money. We'll hopefully [...]
![[Listen] Chromatics: "Lady" (Expensive Looks Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4264837_lg.jpg)

Chromatics - Lady (DRUMLESS version) In his recent Pitchfork interview Johnny Jewel gave away the special drumless versions of the Chromatics' Kill for Love album. As he said: - " It's for all the remixers and people that want to mess with the tracks, put drums on them, chop them up. " - WOOOOW, THX Johnny! So, AudioPornographerz out there, head over to Pitchfork to read the full interview and let us know if you made something with those files ;) Chromatics - [...]

Italians Do It Better were one of the first record labels to make a significant name for themselves through music blogs in the early days of the format circa 2007 and 2008. The label's well-maintained blogspot , which is still in effect, became essential reading for bloggers who were interested in obscure heritage and rarely-heard artefacts of music past which informed the label's own artists. The roster delved into Italo-disco, synth pop and moody dance music; all manners of shiny retro-obsessed electronic pop music. Here was an incestuous bunch of artists: Desire, Chromatics, Glass Candy, Professor Genius, Nite [...]

Don't get me wrong. Chromatics already had one of the year's highlight albums with Kill For Love - a towering, dramatic collection of synth-soaked anthems, most of which might sound just as comfortable in a stadium as they would on your car stereo driving home at 3 AM. With that said, sometimes less is more. This week saw Chromatics drop a drumless version of their album, completely identical apart from the lack of percussion, and the result is something pretty stunning. Isolating those soft vocals, heavy waves of synth, and wistful guitar peels makes Johnny Jewel's fuzzy, [...]

"I was really liking the way the vocal [...]

"Kill For Love" from Chromatics is without a doubt one of the best releases of 2012. Now we have access of the entire album without the drums. Before listening to it, I was a bit apprehensive. However the result is very interesting. The entire album sounds more dreamy and atmospheric. You can also download the [...]
