The line-up for this years Sasquatch Festival came out on Thursday night and it is a pretty decent looking list. Even though there is roughly a -12% chance that I will be able to attend this year, I thought it would be kind to preview some songs from artists that I would be excited to go see. This is just a small sampling so head over to The Official Site for more info about bands playing and how to get tickets. Enjoy! Free mp3: Active Child - Hanging [...]

Encabezando la lista tenemos a Jack White, Beck, Bon Iver, Beirut, Zola Jesus, pasando por The Roots, Explosions In [...]

The long gestation period between their last two albums sparked rumours that Clap Your Hands Say Yeah , once a blogosphere phenomenon, were en route to splitting up. Hysterical was considered a return to form after the sometimes faltering Some Loud Thunder and a barn-storming set a last year’s Electric Picnic seemed to cast away any doubts that they were finished as a band. Even though they are making their debut on a Galway stage – as part of the Once Upon a Time Down the West festival - [...]
Prior to arriving at the Pavilion for the sold-out second gig of a 20-date European tour for Clap Your Hands Say Yeah I had been reading this article about what it apparently takes to be a rock star: $100,000 in your first year as a band could see you achieve [Read more]

Tweet With a fresh, exhuberant sound, Niteflights are guaranteed to get your 2012 kicking right into gear. My first exposure to them was when they shared their brilliant cover of John Cale 's "Paris 1919 ", and was instantly pleased with what I heard. For me, the true test of a great cover is when someone can take a song and make it their own, which Niteflights are able to do while still staying true to the original. [...]

Don't ask me why I used a picture of Wayne and Garth on this post I just... well the roadies in their movies were the most memorable, and this post is about touring and stuff, and I couldn't find a picture of a Wayne's World roadie quickly so I thought fuck it. Anyhow, two bits of news: Meursault are touring the UK and Europe as Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's main support. Rob St. John is playing SHHH Festival and opening for Bonnie Prince Billy in Oxford [...]

Sparkcast? Spark? YES, any kind of fucking spark whatsoever will do the trick. I remember getting in trouble at my former day job a couple of years ago for writing something rather negative about that awful sensation of being back at your desk after the excesses and indolence of Christmas. I am not feeling negative about it now, which is good given I am self-employed, but I am certainly struggling to spark my brain back into something resembling life at the moment. So yes, I have two new releases to get moving, by Jesus H. Foxx [...]

Happy New Years Eve Eve. As you get ready for the NYE celebrations, take some time out of your preparations and enjoy today's helping of GOOD. I've got a super fun track from American indie pop duo (and husband-and-wife team) Mates of State . After that, the upbeat rhythms from north London indie-alt rockers Bombay Bicycle Club . Last up, a really cool track from one of the blogosphere's favorite indie outfits, Clap Your Hands [...]

ARTIST: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - [Live] VENUE: The Opera House - Toronto, Canada - 12/09/11 DATE: 12-17-11 REVIEW BY: Jackson Main PHOTO: Jackson Main Before Brooklyn was to the early Millennium what Seattle was to the Nineties, before the machine pumped out tonnes of boring synth-pop bands and before the broad concept of "hipsterism" was a going concern, there was a small group of bands doing great things and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah were among them (as were LCD [view [...]

Confessions of a heretic…I went to last week’s Clap Your Hands Say Yeah show to see WATERS as I really had no idea what CYHSY sounded like. I watched the energy of the sold-out crowd explode when the band took the stage but, for whatever reason, the band’s music just wasn’t my cup of tea. I was trying to get a feel for the band’s music [...]
(Se cliccate sulle immagini ci stanno le canzoni preferite) The Low Anthem | Smart Flesh Feist | The Metals [...]
