In our mildly enthusiastic review of CLDSCP’s Niños Azules , we criticized the band’s methods of paralleling sonic and lyrical literacy for the sake of acquiring catchy hooks. In the last line of that review we also predicted Leopoldo de Sarro and Andres Andinach would find gold the minute they found a channel for melodic succession, and that’s exactly what they offer us in this stunning cover of “Sintonía Americana,” a daring, almost heroic cover original to Argentine '60s rock icons Miguel Abuelo & Los Abuelos de la Nada. This track is one of the [...]

Niños Azules, CLDSCP Big Making Records, Argentina Rating: 66 By Carlos Reyes Music theorists of the purist persuasion will tell you there’s no such a thing as “too catchy," or at least they wouldn’t see it as a flaw. Truth is, when an album’s structure puts all of its sonic and lyrical literacy into a “catchy tune," you risk stepping in the drowning waters of the spasmodic, and that’s the furthest you can possibly get from musical transcendence. Up-and-coming Argentinean duo CLDSCP [...]

Our fourth "Carte blanche" is given to Cldscp , an atypic duo from Argentina that brought the pop concept to its paroxysm, by composing in 2009 several tenth of tracks at an industrial rate with the most simple instruments : a mouth, a charango and some electronic toys. The result is a crispy and childish love story you're not close to forget ! (Total 7 tracks) 1 . Sade read on »

Mysterious bands seem to be a Rack & Ruin attraction - the unknown _, the curious Vincent Lillis, and the attractively obscure Cutthroat Convention. So when a weirdly wonderful Argentinian band approached with an impressive back catalogue, and a future which promises "acoustic instruments and toys", then our interest arose. Cldscp have released their music on various netlabels, from Poland, Japan, Spain, and elsewhere and so it is a great pleasure to see one of their EPs arriving on the Rack & Ruin doorstep. Musically, this Argentinian duo are best described as melancholy driven electronica, or [...]
![good night with: [tng1048] Calidoscopio - Lemmings (2009)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1562069_lg.jpg)
Some time ago we have released Calidoscopio's first album, Plug . We were enchanted by their simple yet beautiful songs and were hoping for more. And now we've got it. The Argentinian duo just finished their new album and we are more than happy to have it online too. Another ten songs, somewhere between melancholic lo-fi pop and weirdly distorted electronica - still surprising and still very good, maybe even better than the first one. Not much has changed also about our knowledge of the band's story, they remain [...]
