The decidedly good-looking young men behind Canadian indie rock's most promising new group (judging by the amount of buzz they've garnered in the last year or so), The Coast , have just released their debut LP digitally a week or so ago (physical discs will be out May 5) via their new home, Afternoon Records . Odd celebrations on odd days. The girlfriend, Jake + Clara and I took a nice little getaway to the San Francisco Zoo the most recent Wednesday. Praying for no rain on the way there, we got a decent sunshine-y day in between hovering clouds. I say odd celebrations because I found out later that night about April 8th being "Zoo Lovers Day" from a SF Zoo tweet ( twitter.com/sfzoo ). The Coast are a wonderful band from Canada. Their anticipated full length gets digitally released tomorrow, on Afternoon Records. If you're not into the whole digital thing, you can pick up a hard copy starting May 5th. The first single on the album is "Tightrope", a lovely pop song that has potential to make this band big.
