I'm not sure I'll ever be able to really fully understand CocoRosie .  Sometimes they're just so obviously spectacular, and then there are other times where I can't at all figure out what they're going for.  Guess that's the win/loss part of them being so experimental?  Or maybe I should spend more time with their albums?  Either way, today's track is rad.  The sister duo will release Tales Of A GrassWidow on May 28 via Redeye Distribution .  Enjoy. : CocoRosie - After The Afterlife :  Naturally, this is sort of a weird song.  [...]

Walking into an apparently deserted house, and there's nothing to disturb but dust. Walk a little ways into the house, and a record player quietly starts playing in the next room. Enter see the no one's disturbed the thick dust on the floor, but that CocoRosie's Tales of a GrassWidow is spinning on an old turntable. Wilfully eccentric as ever, CocoRosie's latest – the follow-up to the commensurately outré Gravediggress , and the second bit to be lifted from forthcoming fifth,  Tales of a Grass Widow – begins an elegiac festal hymnal and the sort that, while we're still just about in the spirit of all things spiritual, could have even a heathen returning to take its place in the ligneous pews of the neighbourhood parish. Though after twenty-five seconds or so of that, Bianca and Sierra's attentions flit to a funked up and flatulent synth line which entwines its wicked modulations [...]
