Back for its third year, Tinderbox Music Festival — entirely composed of female musicians and female-fronted bands — showcased this past Sunday a diverse amount of genres with acts from all over the country playing on 3 separate stages. The event started at 1pm with folkier bands taking the stage in the morning, including a stand out performance by NYC Jamie Bendell (pictured and streaming), whose beautifully raw and innocent voice blended perfectly with catchy acoustic guitar riffs and a grittier sound from the back-up electric guitarist. The voice of Karen Margaret Sheridan may yet transpire to be one to part opinion as does that of Joanna Newsom. Both commensurately dulcet, if somewhat yowled slow skies is a project with more optimistic promise than a lucid, azure scrape of sky. Across The Sea sounds a little like a lot of The xx' Coexist – albeit disrobed of the excessive swathes of reverb – whilst Walk Me Home plods redolent of the indistinguishable vox of those CocoRosie sisters Cassady and their skewed, parochial chamber-folk. Berlin's o F F Love is in the middle of a U.S. tour opening for How To Dress Well . Tonight he will perform a special one-off solo performance at Tandem in Brooklyn. Joining him for an after hours DJ set will be Bianca of CocoRosie . Together, they form the project Gay Mormon Kissing Club , or GMKC for short. The show is free and starts at 11:00pm. TM Hunter er et nyt københavnsk band bestående af de to medlemmer Michael og Therese Fischerson. Helt uerfarne ud i musikken er ingen af dem dog. Michael var aktiv i Doi, som i 2006 udgav det ekstremt undervurderede album Sing The Boy Electric , og Therese var sangerinde i det nu opløste band GimmiJapan. De to medlemmer deler efternavnet Fischerson, da de udover et fælles engegement i musikken, ligeledes blev gift i 2009. Bandet trækker på inspirationer fra bl.a. Coco Rosie, Tom Waits og Serge Gainsbourg, og genremæssigt kan man både spore melankolsk pop, folk og fransk film-musik. [...]

Swimming through athletics screenings and scurrying across crammed foyers, it's surprisingly still once inside tonight's Royal Festival Hall. Indeed given the unpredictability of the inherently unorthodox CocoRosie , the evening could quite conceivably keep both serene and sombre: the sisters' proclivity for melancholia has and most likely always will be fairly pervasive, and as they hurdle the discography much woe remains. Der Zürichsee bildet im Juli die Kulisse für eine hochkarätige Konzertreihe: Mazzy Star, Warpaint, CocoRosie, Wovenhand und Black Lips besuchen die Rote Fabrik. An einem der schönsten Plätze der Stadt steht im Juli traditionsgemäss eine unvergleichliche Freiluftbühne. Vor dem Ziegel oh Lac unter hohen Bäumen treffen Schallwellen auf die zahme Brandung des Zürichsees. Übte sich das Programm der Bühne am See im letzten Jahr in Understatement, trägt die Rote Fabrik in diesem Sommer so dick auf, dass man sich für die Konzertreihe ein Abo wünscht.
