Currently based in London, Texas/Dutch duo Erin K and Tash (featured as a Bands to Watch in March 2010 ) will self-release their debut single 'Coins' on the 21st of November. This first single delicately picks through the sad ruination of personal connections, tracing a young girl's search for love in all the wrong places back to her father, who was likewise tainted by the pursuit of success and control. With clear harmonies and a cadence reminiscent of late '80s folk-pop, especially Suzanne Vega, 'Coins' offers an oblique commentary on today's [...]

A Tundra | Photo by Donny Mahlmeister Three break-out-the-maracas-so-you-c an-jam-with-the-bartender reasons to head down to Panchos tonight... 1. Chicago mellow indie poppers A Tundra have literally been around the block. Mostly, just picking up strays from bands like Crush Kill Destroy, Joan of Arc, Smoking Popes, and Tortoise. The end result is a musical gumbo that sounds like equal parts Deerhoof and Joan of Arc with its calculated melodies and endearing male and female vocal dynamic. Also worth mentioning is the group's penchant for punny song titles such [...]

Maybe the perfect antidote to the sluggish grey monday we're facing in London. This chirpy indie pop disco house fest should pick you up out of the gutter as Hot Coins remixes Rob Basejam and Wave Machines. 300 vinyl are getting pressed up for these previously un-vinyled remixes... look out for their subtle white labels above... Almost three years after the unbearably sad death of Lux Interior , I am now on Stage 6 of the Kubler-Ross Five Stages of Grief : listening to The Cramps Jukebox over and over and over in the vein hope that repeat listens of this 2-CD set will miraculously bring him back to life. Songs on this (authorized?) CD, such as Did You Mean Jelly Bean (by Joe Clay ), Bila (by [...]

I know there has been a void in your life since I, Bauce Sauce, have been in the woods for 4 days with no Internet/cell reception. I did not get attacked by a bear, but I did witness two turtles doing it. SCORE! Anyways while I was incommunicado, my fave next-up artist, Wax and superproducer (and all around beat wunderkind) EOM, dropped off these funky visuals. Three minutes of straight crack spitting, which is somewhat of a norm for Wax. Every Wax video has something to love in it; they are just plain entertaining . This particular video should [...]

Wax is in an interesting position. The dude has been going hard on YouTube for years, and he's proved, through a virtual library full of freestyles and free music, that he's got a lot of talent with words and no problem reeling in dedicated fans. Technically speaking, when Wax is in the zone he ranks way above most in terms of delivery and manipulation of language. But making that transition from a word-twisting spitter to a major label artist is tricky. In March, Wax announced that he had signed to Def Jam. At this point, it's hard to [...]
Good advice but...It's too hot out to jog. Previous: Wax - Fail

Wax and EOM are back at it again. This time they have linked up with director Andrew Kurchinski to put together a video for the new track "Coins". The last video we posted from this crew was the cartoon video they did for "Don't Need" but this new one is live action which lets you see what these guys do best. They have fun and that's exactly what their music and vibe are all about. And along side that "vibe" you have Wax who has mad jokes just spittin' dope line after dope line. Check out the [...]
When we previously heard from L.A. resident Wax, he was promoting the ill-as-hell animated visuals for " Don't Need ". And now, he's pushing an equally animated, albeit in a different way, video. It's for his latest track with producer EOM, "Coins", that is animated in a different way. Instead of using cartoon-y visuals, Wax has linked with director Andrew Kurchinski who clearly knows just how wild the rapper can get in front of a camera. It doesn't hurt that the track itself is pretty damn dope, too. [ via ] Hit the skip for the visuals.
New video from Wax and EOM "Coins" directed Andrew Kurchinski.

Consider my mind just blown , pun not intended: [These coins] were used in ancient Rome to request and pay for different "services" in brothels and from prostitutes on the street. Since there were a lot of foreigners coming to the city that did not speak the language and most of the prostitutes were slaves captured from other places the coins made the transactions easy and efficient. One side of these coins showed what the buyer wanted and the other showed the amount of money to be paid for the act. It's [...]
Its a weird thing. I find dimes. Canadian 10 cent coins. Everywhere. I've mentioned it to a few friends, often to a look of disbelief, but I swear I'm not crazy. Sounds like something a crazy person would say!

Tape labels are abundant these days, as are new cassette releases, and Stars on C-30 includes reviews of some of these releases, the occasional band or label profile, and a look at the culture surrounding cassettes. In any musical genre there are quiet leaders, bands who help define a sound but never become the "it" band. These bands are definitely known, but when you name a few quick names the genre couldn't do without, they're often left off the list. The same principle applies to record labels. With the cassette renaissance in full swing, [...]

Once more, here is October's edition of the Music Alliance Pact . For those of you who don't know about MAP, it's a collection of music blogs from around the world who band together once a month to shed light on up-and-comers from their home countries. It's sort of like the WTO without the human rights violations. This month we've welcomed one new country: Estonia !. This edition showcases 34 tracks from bands around the world and marks the one-year anniversary since IGIF's inaugural edition of MAP debuted [...]

The Music Alliance Pact is a collective of 34 of the world's top music blogs and webzines from 34 countries spanning six continents. It's been a year since the MAP was launched, and Indiecision is proud to have been part of it for the past three months. This month we picked New Delhi electronica act Teddy Boy Kill 's 'Tonic' as the Indian representative on this massive international indie mixtape. The [...]
