(rs) Tracklist 1. Audience [...]
As a teaser between albums, Cold War Kids released Behave Yourself - a digital-only EP late last year. The soul-rock band, who recently wrapped up a mini-tour, head into the studio this month to record the follow-up to their 2008 release Loyalty to Loyalty . Here's the band's Wes Anderson-inspired Audience Of One video directed by their friend Vern Moen... Cold War Kids - Audience Of One

I know there are many diverging opinions concerning Cold War Kids, not unlike those pertaining to Vampire Weekend. Put simply, I am a fan (of both really). Cold War Kids' 'Hospital Beds' has been, is, and forever will be, one of my favorite songs and justly found its way into my 1000 Minutes. [...]
By: David Schultz Photos: Jason Fuiman At the close of the Cold War Kids' New York City set this past Friday night, lead singer Nathan Willett sat down at his keyboard and began to pound out the opening chords of "We Used To Vacation." As has been their custom for years, guitarist Jonnie Russell wails away on a loose cymbal perched atop a speaker cabinet in between shakes of a maraca until the
Initially, I wasn't going to put up this video but I have been going back to it for several days now and the song has really grown on me. The video is well done but still doesn't make much sense to me, if you are brave enough you can interpret it for me in the [...]

Maybe it's not fair to compare Cold War Kids to their older selves. Bands change. I get that. But there's a difference between maturing and simply slowing down and that's what they seem to have been doing since their second studio album, Loyalty To Loyalty , was released in 2008. Not that the fans seem to mind. Saturday night's show at the Vic was packed with enthused, sweaty faces who danced and pumped their fists to every word, so the band must be doing something right. To their credit, [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News Long Beach, Calif. quartet Cold War Kids haven't toured since last summer, but they decided to play an exclusive five-city -- including Anchorage, Alaska -- micro tour in support of their new EP, 'Behave Yourself.' Saturday night at The Vic in Chicago, the Kids performed the four new songs from the EP to a rather boisterous and disobedient sold-out crowd. The band opened with energetic 'I've Seen Enough' from sophomore record 'Loyalty to Loyalty,' which was immediately welcomed with [...]

Cold War Kids were at the top of their game tonight, playing a sold out show, here in Chicago, at The Vic . This being the fifth and final performance of a special five date tour, before they begin work on a new record. Covering a variety of tunes off the two full lengths and the brand new EP, Behave Yourself , out now via Downtown , the band seemed very comfortable in their skin. They also claimed Chicago to be their secret weapon and [...]

Hello hello, it's Friday Friday and man o' man another fun weekend ahead! Lots of craftin' and artsin' and cyclin' and even a little road trippin' to Cincinnatin' for a photoshoot. This time, it's Baby's turn to get in front of the lens (tech speak, sorry) and amazing photographer and model Claudia's turn to shoot! Now, I'll be there, camera(s) in tow, to shoot the shoot (did I just blow yer mind???) as 1) I want [...]

Nothing sinks a band faster than that dreaded c-word: Comp lacency. At their sold-out show Thursday night at Brooklyn's Musi c Hall of Williamsburg -- a last-minute addition to their much bigger sold-out show tonight at Terminal 5 -- the Cold War Kids played like professionals doing a job for which the thrill is gone. I last saw the band at Bonnaroo 2007, when their debut Robbers & Cowards was just beginning to get some notice. Playing a grueling set in the midday sun , the quartet performed like [...]

The Cold War Kids are an indie band that, to me, have always belonged with the likes of Death Cab for Cutie, The White Stripes, and The Flaming Lips-they're easily talented and accessible enough to hit MTV (and indeed they have), but at the same time they possess a unique enough voice that they don't sound like all the other pop music you'll find there. Part of the reason is their slightly off-kilter rythms, but let's not kid ourselves: Nathan Willett's vocals are now, and have always been, extraordinary. They're weird, passionate, painful, harsh and wonderful. The band took [...]

You should definitely give some money to Haiti at some point soon, and why not go see a concert with 16 amazing acts while you do it? For fifty dollars that go entirely to charity, you get to see performances at the amazing Bell House from: The Walkmen, Cold War Kids, Ted Leo, The Wrens, Freelance Whales, Sondre Lerche, A.C. Newman, Rhett Miller, Nicole Atkins, Here We Go Magic, Lauren Ambrose and the Leisure Class, The Blow, Senator Diane Savino (not a clever band name), Jimmy Fallon, Michael Showalter, and Eugene Mirman. Heck, I'd pay fifty bucks just to see [...]
