Hostage (Alan Parley) is a UK based DJ/Producer whose clutch utilization of the kick drum and deep bellowing bass has earned him a strong following that has led to many major festival appearances. Hostage's sound borders on the line between electro and dubstep, some might call it rave. Accompanying his stellar collection of original tracks are his remixes which make it their aim to take each original hostage and do dirty, dirty things to them. The outcome is nothing short of amazing. :: Hostage - Requiem :: [...]

I'm not sure if it's possible to make a pop rock record that doesn't sound, well, familiar in some way. Listening to Teeth , the second release from Utah band The Devil Whale, I'm not sure if that's a bad thing, though. Teeth is a collection of [...]
Day Three of Sasquatch Festival started with overcast, windy and cool weather, and big, dark clouds that seemed impossibly calm; and while they threatened rain, just like Saturday, the rain stayed away. However, the skies soon turned from mostly cloudy to partly cloudy just in time for the first shows of the day. Note: Because [...] Read more, get songs or stream the entire mix on Indie Rock Cafe

When DeLuna Fest premiered in 2010, no one could have foreseen that it'd be during a period when the Gulf Coast region was ravaged by one of the biggest eco-disasters in recent history. Despite premiering a festival against those adverse conditions, the Pensacola Beach, FL-based festival proved a success with a lineup featuring Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, and Ed Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes. For its sophomore year, DeLuna Fest now prides itself as a "resort destination festival" and boasts an initial lineup made up of musical heavy weights and up-and-comers. Set [...]

This weekend Sasquatch! Music Festival took place in George, Washington with arena dominators Foo Fighters, Death Cab For Cutie, Wilco, Robyn and Cold War Kids all performing sets over the weekend to thousands of lucky festival goers. Over on NPR you can listen to a tonne of the weekends festivities along with the rest of the sets to come by the end of the day. Have some time to kill? I'd recommend the DFA79 and Local Natives sets for starters then maybe some Das Racist and Black Mountain for seconds. But that's just me. Happy listening.
