(UPDATE 2) Warner Music Group has purchased EMI's Parlophone music group from Universal for $765 million. The deal includes Parlophone, Chrysalis, Ensign and other labels along with related EMI European subsidiaries and included the catalogs and contracts for Coldplay, Pink Floyd, David Guetta, Iron Maiden and others. EMI labels in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Slovakia and Sweden are also part of the deal. According to Billboard , Warner Music Group has acquired the Parlophone Label Group from Universal Music Group for £487 million (around $765 million). The UK-based Parlophone is home to the likes of Pink Floyd, Coldplay, Gorillaz, Iron Maiden, and formerly Daft Punk. Universal acquired Parlophone through its merger with EMI last fall, but was forced to sell off the label in order to meet anti-trust concerns in Europe and America.
