There is a cool new company called Sound Supply , that is giving us a new way to purchase music. 10 albums for $15. This bundled deal is a fun way to get cheap music and to give some new sounds a chance. Their first bundle includes several artists that have been previously featured here on IHYEB, including Coconut Records (Jason Schwartzman), Colour Revolt, Sophie Madelein, and Andrew Dost (Anathallo, Fun.). If they can continue to get quality artists to contribute, this project could be a big deal. Supply Drop #1 Trailer [...]

Welcome to FWBA's best-of 2011. This has been such a meaningful year in music to me that it's tough to represent in one post. I'm going to be honest, this took me quite a long time. I wanted to do this year justice because personally, it was a total dream: living in San Diego working with some of my favorite artists, going to SXSW and Lollapalooza, seeing Dave Bazan in stranger's living rooms, Feist play a hometown show, saw tune-yards electrified show at Soda Bar clocking in as one of my favorite performances, watching Zach Rogue and my boyfriend playing [...]

We caught up with our good friends Colourmusic , who opened for Colour Revolt . Texans Dignan kicked off the night, Colourmusic brought the noise, and Colour Revolt left everyone happy. And when we say Colourmusic brought the noise, we mean it. Colourmusic was about as loud as we can remember anyone ever being at Emo's, and that is saying a lot. Earplugs were complaining to the management. It was awesome. Click the link for pictures. Fun night. Getting [...]

COLOUR REVOLT, COLOURMUSIC, PRIORY ( Mississippi Studios , 3939 N Mississippi) With taut, tight tunes rendered in groaning guitars and ragged howls, Mississippi rockers Colour Revolt make music that both soothes and seethes. Coincidentally, Oklahoma's similarly named Colourmusic is also on the bill, offering wild, weirdo rock. NL [ Subscribe to the comments on this story ]

My review of the Taking Back Sunday and Thursday show at Best Buy Theater, July 17th 2011.
By: Greg Grits I had the distinct pleasure of spending part of my fourth of July weekend with Taking Back Sunday in Phoenix, AZ at The Marquee Theater. It's been a few years since I last joined them and not only are they back with their strongest album in a long while, but this tour also marks the return of TBS's original line up. The show started with The New Regime who were decent, but ultimately forgettable. After a few more drinks The Colour Revolt took the stage and [...]

Colour Revolt have been on a quiet tear this year. The deluxe edition of the album is available today for $3.99 as Amazon's Daily Deal , featuring 9 unreleased live versions of old songs along as well as some demos for songs that didn't make the cut. The band have even made one of those [...]

Colour Revolt did a quick acoustic performance of "Our Names" via The Vinyl District . Make sure to check out frontman Jesse Coppenbarger's new solo album which was released this past Tuesday if you haven't already, here. MP3 // Our Names
With the original lineup back together for the first time since 2003, Taking Back Sunday are readying the release of their self-titled fifth LP , which drops June 28th. Further keeping with the spirit of returning to the past and finding yourself and all that psychobabble, the band is also undertaking one of rock's most time-honored traditions: the summer tour. Following a slew of European tour dates in the middle of this month, TBS returns stateside June 14th in Denver, CO. From there, it's a mad dash across the U.S. [...]

<img src=" http://www.box.net/shared/stat ic/bqsmkdz9cn.jpg" I've been expecting a solo album from Colour Revolt frontman, Jesse Coppenbarger as far back as April 2009 , so to say this piece is a little overdue is a tad of an understatement. Coppenbarger will release Oxford Basement Collection under the solo moniker El Obo on May 10th. I'm guessing that's the album art above. You can preview the ghostly acoustic strums on "Vrgn Evl" below. MP3 // Vrgn Evl MORE // [...]

After two EP's, landing themselves on Fat Possum Records, and putting out a full-length, the school mate band of brothers called Colour Revolt came to a crossroad. Members Jesse Coppenbarger and Sean Kirkpatrick found themselves without a band, and without a label. Dissolving the band seemed imminent, and a short lived breakup took place, but both realized they still wanted to make music together, and lucky for us they still do. Coppenbarger and Kirkpatrick kept writing, pulled a band together, landed a deal with Dualtone Records and put out one of their most comprehensive musical works titled [...]
