Indie Pop legends Comet Gain released a new single for their forthcoming record Howl of the Lonely Crowd out in October. Listen to An Arcade From The Warm Rain That Falls.

Comet Gain lançará esse ano o álbum Howl Of The Lonely Crowd, o sexto da carreira da banda, que tem quase 20 anos de estrada. A banda faz o tradicional Indie Rock e a faixa An Arcade from the Warm Rain That Falls vem nessa levada. MP3: An Arcade From the Warm Rain That Falls (via Forkcast )

“An Arcade From The Warm Rain That Falls” brings chimes on intro with seemingly Byrdsian implication though by end you'll be thinking classic British eighties' indie. The song is found on the forthcoming album, Howl of the Lonely Crowd , recorded and produced by Edwyn Collins and Ryan Jarman of The Cribs and slated for US release on October 4th via What’s Your Rupture? http://www.facebook.com/cometg ain http://www.myspace.com/thecome tgain

Hello Friends, July 30th is right around the corner(yep, literally...it's tomorrow), and I'll be back behind the turntables at the Diamond ! I'm still going to be spinning 97% vinyl, with the those rare couple new jams that I can't go without playing. Beginning of the evening is going to be my normal dose of rock n' roll, punk, twee, and indie...but thanks to some experimental purchases (and Ron at Permanent Records pointing me in the direction I want to go) I'm going to be [...]

Check out a new track from veteran indie pop act Comet Gain whose new record Howl of the Lonely Crowd is due out in October via Whats Your Rupture? (who also just released the fantastic Iceage record). Mp3: Comet Gain - An Arcade From The Warm Rain That Falls

I've known this project was in the works for some time, and I'm super excited to bring you all new tunes from one of my most beloved bands, Comet Gain . You'll find this new tune, as well as twelve others, on their latest effort, Howl of the Lonely Crowd, which will be released in the US on October 4th by the incredible folks over at What's Your Rupture . In my mind, this is one of the most under-appreciated bands in the whole [...]

The Ladybug Transistor formed in Brooklyn in 1995, and frontman Gary Olson has been the band's sole constant member. Clutching Stems (Merge) is the group's seventh album and the first to be made following the 2007 asthma-related death of drummer San Fadyl. Since, the band's lineup has solidified behind Olson, featuring Kyle Forester, Julia Rydholm, [...]

Last night was our second DJing experience, and it was rather a contrast to the first time around. It was all rather last minute, meaning I didn't have five weeks to fret about song choices. It was in a coffee shop instead of a bar with a dance floor, and given the rain and other factors, there wasn't exactly a big turnout. Didn't matter though as I still ended up enjoying myself immensely. Here's what I played: 1. Herman Düne - Tell Me Something I Don't Know 2. Belle & Sebastian - Your Cover's [...]
Amor de Días—the duo of Alasdair Maclean (Clientele) and Lupe Núñez-Fernández (Pipas)—just released debut album Street Of The Love Of Days via Merge. (Those of you who speak Spanish know that the band's moniker translates to "love of days," hence the album title.) Maclean and Núñez-Fernández worked on the 15-track LP for more than three [...]

Comet Gain: Howl of the Lonely Crowd Comet Gain are one of the quintessentially English indie bands, but they’re not little Englanders; their range, as you’d know if you’d ever seen one of Feck’s mixtape playlists, is broad, drawing on (for example) punk, psychedelia, garage rock, Northern Soul and Kiwi pop. Produced by Edwyn Collins (appropriately, because at least 20% of Comet Gain’s DNA is derived from early Orange Juice) and Ryan Jarman of The Cribs, [...]

Musically, Comet Gain has been deft at creating perfect distorted pop trifles, but lyrics are another matter. Other indie-pop and post-punk bands, as well as smart films and books, are name-checked for no real reason other than to imply coolness. Pretension in pop music is a difficult pill to swallow, no matter how sweet the corresponding sound. Perhaps this is why someone like Lady Gaga comes hard and heavy with the pretension in interviews and (to an extent) music videos, but doles out the pretension sparingly, if at all, in her songs. British indie-poppers Comet Gain, however, do not [...]

This was just too late to be released on Record Store Day (how very Comet Gain) and pairs a track from each band’s new album on a 7” single that looks like blue vinyl struck down with chickenpox. ‘Working Circle Explosive’ is the best of Comet Gain, an overcharged battery of drone rock discharging great sparks of angry guitar and referencing 60s psych-poppers and the 80s Flying Nun label. The lyrics are politically combustible too, telling the tale of the Socialist Patients Collective (SPK, mates of the Baader-Meinhof gang) in the early 1970s, whose psychiatrist Dr Huber believed that [...]

Comet Gain From: London, United Kingdom Comet Gain has history. They’re veritable veterans in an industry where careers rise and fall quicker than a dot.com company on a rollercoaster and they’re back to show The Vaccines, Brother and the latest crop of guitar wielding British pop urchins how it should be done. Grown from the noisy, political and downright belligerent Riot Grrrl movement, Comet Gain harks back to a time in British music when anything [...]

Album number seven from Comet Gain - David Feck and his (now six strong) merry band - sees no significant changes being wrought on the sound you’ve come to know and love over the last 19 years. With Edwyn Collins and The Cribs’ Ryan Jarman handling the production duties on Howl Of The Lonely Crowd , there’s a feeling of circularity about the whole thing – the admired and the admirer sorting out their fans and influences. Comet Gain - Howl Of The [...]
