Bien gras.

As part of an overhaul of its logo and packaging, the 65-year-old Bazooka bubblegum is replacing its red, white and blue color scheme and dropping the tiny Bazooka Joe comic strip that’s wrapped each piece of the pink candy since 1953. It's time for a Friday jam from Pittsburgh's Comic Strips . Right on time for the weekend, the 20-year-old released aother one of his signature club heaters, geared to take on the dance floor. The tune casts away with a dramatic piano introduction, which is narrated by enchanting words that will you pull closer to your speakers just before you grab hold of the drop. The synths that follow come steady, fast, & super-charged, flipping the tune for a complete 180. These sounds are some of the most raw that have come out of the Comic Strips lair and [...]
A new coffee-table book spotlights the Fab Four's most colorful appearances.
The morning is overcast, damp and foggy. I was woken up by a small plane landing on my neighbor's runway. Okay, I admit there is no runway, and there was no plane, but it sounded like one, maybe the Songbird; instead, it was the loudest, noisiest lawn mower in existence. To top it off, the house across the street was being mowed at the same time by a stand-on mower. I had no choice but to get out of bed. Creature News: a new segment today on Coffee. First news is the frequent sightings and finally a picture [...]

A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn't care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. This week we have for you a new CHP SMKS original featuring Francophilippe titled "Futureland". Also coming your way is some new Comic Strips , Knooper , [...]
The weekend has come and gone, and now you're deep into your weekly grind. Never fear, Wobble Wednesday is back with more of your favorite face-melting bass drops to help you make the most of your mundane lifestyle. Today I'll be guiding you along through the many variations of bass music that we see these days, new and old. I wanted to turn the Wobble Wednesday feature into more than just a section for today's dubstep, so I decided it was only right to incorporate some drum & bass as well as an oldies section into the weekly feature. [...]
Comics Strips has become a producer known for raging electro hits and profound musical skills, yet he's still only 20 years old. His hometown of Pittsburgh is famously known for it's steely stacks, and with the release of this 2 track EP, he's emanated that tough image with jarring melodies and a club-heavy demeanor. I for one see this as his best two tracks yet. His originality is evident within a few second of listening to both and it's clear he's been spending a lot of time polishing his sound and developing new production techniques. Nobody can deny Tom [...]
We could all use a little more Comic Strips in our life. After a brief period of drought, the Pittsburgh 20-year-old has answered our needs to the tune of a new EP. Today he's revealed a 1 minutes and 50 second teaser of the forthcoming multi-genre release, for what those samples are worth, I am already craving this release. Beats the taunt you with pulse-quaking drops, frenzied synths, and an overarching energetic and loose feeling. No word on the release date, but there's a cat on the tentative album; definitely worth the (hopefully short) wait. Enjoy! [...]

With the anticipation of Coachella now in full force after the release of the final batch of tickets last Friday at 10am (yes, we got f*&^ed over by the standby page too), it’s time to get acquainted with the 100+ artists who will be there. One of these is Gotye , a man by the real name Wally De Backer who, armed with his travelling band, is selling out concert halls left and right, solidifying his place on indie playlists. [...]

One of the hotest songs on the music scene right now and over 500,000 plays on soundcloud, Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know has just been introduced to a new monster, Comic Strips! Comic has taken Gotye's soft melodic sound and twisted, turned, punched, and dropped the F#!ken Sh!t out of it! Not only will the filthy vibe have you head-banging, soon enough you will be singing Somebody That I Use To Know over and over again. EnJoy

Interview: Comic Strips Pittsburgh's 19-year old electro-heavy, grind-filthy phenom, Comic Strips has been instigating blog buzz and questions for months now. Questions like: How can we pin this guy down? What genre will he fux wit next? So who just blew out my brand new speakers? His music is bouncy and whimsical with drops that are both technical and completely danceable, something utterly familiar but at the same time entirely new, synthy dichotomy, Comic Strips' sound takes electro house down a road wrought with creativity and originality. Known for his epic remixing, he can handle just about any [...]
