This year's Rock The Bells music festival marks its 10th anniversary with a jam-packed lineup, including "virtual performances" by two deceased artists, Ol' Dirty Bastard from the Wu Tang Clan and Eazy-E, who will be performing with the ongoing reunion of Bone Thugs N Harmony. The MC Supernatural actually freestyled the all-star line-up earlier this evening. In full, here's what the lineup looks like: Big K.R.I.T., Black Hippy (Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, and Schoolboy Q), Bodega Bamz Bone Thugs N Harmony, Brother Ali, Chase and Status, Common, Curren$y, Danny Brown, Dilated Peoples, Dizzy Wright, Dom Kennedy, E-40 and Too Short, [...]

Estelle releases a new unreleased cut "Victorious" featuring Common & produced by No I.D., track left off her All of Me album (2011).
The story behind Estelle 's "Victorious" is that it was supposed to land on last year's All of Me LP. But for whatever reason, it was left on the cutting room floor and destined for musical purgatory. WRONG. The song found its way online, because of course it did, and is a pretty damn good one at that. It features Common on guest rhymes and he and Estelle share around the same amount of time on the track, which just so happens to be produced by longtime Com collaborator No I.D. Anyone else think this one [...]

Com and No I.D. assist Estelle on this track that was intended to be included on her All Of Me LP, but didn't make the cut. A snippet of "Victorious" has hit the net before, but you can now stream the full version below thanks to Nav . Mixed by DJ Dummy and 9th Wonder. Com adds a verse to Chris Brown's "Fine China" for this latest offering. DJ Dummy and 9th Wonder even add a little MJ in there too. From the sound of this one, I think Com should've been featured on the original. Spotted at Rap-Up . The post Common - Fine China [Remix] appeared first on Fake Shore Drive .
There's a little different format for this month's playlist. Instead of making this a who's who of my favorite tracks posted on Sirens this month, I went on a bit of a different path. This month's playlist is MP3 only, which means you can download it at your leisure, as some have requested. No more being tied to the website to listen. It also means that unfortunately there are a ton of great songs submitted to me that aren't included. What is included is a few of the great tracks posted here that did have free MP32s, as [...]

I absolutely love what's going on right now. As much as I think Hov and B are at fault for going to Cuba for what was probably pure enjoyment, the fact that Jay-Z isn't going down without a fight makes for the creation of some great music. (By the way, Hating on Cuba was so 20th century, let's kiss and make up already. Maybe we could also take a lesson from their healthcare system. I digress.) Throw Common in there this time around and it's drama city. He clearly hasn't forgotten all of the hatred thrown his way from [...]

www.ThinkCommon.com & J.PERIOD Present.... "Open Letter Pt. II" [J.PERIOD EXCLUSIVE] featuring COMMON. "Respect to Jay Z and anyone who stands up for the people."
Jay-Z made headlines last week when he unveiled his "Open Letter" to the world. While the song was meant to tackle all the scrutiny surrounding Hov, it ironically created even more controversy when a few lines about President Obama forced The White House to provide some answers about his trip to Cuba. Blessing the record for part two is another artist whose close association with the President has caused some problems in the past. While the issue in question happened nearly two years ago, Common wants to let us know he [...]
Jay-Z caught flack for his ear-opening track, "Open Letter," but it sounds like he's leading the charge for others to air out their political grievances, both minor and major. Yesterday, [...]
Common adds his own verse to Jay-Z's latest record, 'Open Letter' for this remix, pieced together by J. Period. Take a listen to it below. REWIND: Cocaine 80s – Congratulations (ft. Common)
It looks like Jay-Z's recent " Open Letter " inspired Common to get a bit off his chest as well. Speaking on Cuba, Common urges some to raise awareness for Assata Shakur, a political activist who received political asylum in the country since 1984. Of course, Common first wrote about this topic on his Like Water for Chocolate song "A Song For Assata". While we wouldn't normally post unofficial remixes like this, we thought one as high profile as this needed some shine. With that said, let us know what you think about what [...]

Common lends a verse to Jay's controversial "Open Letter." With a new joint leaking over the weekend, and his participation in Sean's new single, it's safe to say Com is heating up again. Learn yourself something today. X The post Common - Open Letter (Remix) appeared first on Fake Shore Drive .

The collective known as Cocaine 80s is back with frequent collaborator and Chicago native Common for a new song called "Congratulations." The main focus of this joint is Common , who again has a smooth delivery, but it helps when you work with a legendary producer like No I.D. The producer created a mellow and minimal beat that sets the focus on the rapping and vocal work, but with this song, it is exactly how it should be. You can stream and download the song below.
