If the cover art and tracklist are any indication, this album will be Heavy As Fuck
:: Where do I get this shirt ? Answers, now! :: Some folks are calling Bonnaroo's 2010 lineup amazing. I'm calling it a-meh-zing. Some good stuff, way too much garbage. :: Looks like Converge and Thursday are teaming up for a week . :: Got any Bikini Kill stories? Give them to Kill Rock Stars . :: As if it wasn't obvious over a decade ago, MTV is no longer about music . Thus saith their logo. [...]

Seattle hardcore punk band Black Breath is releasing their first full length, Heavy Breathing , March 30th on Southern Lord and the band is heading off on a full US tour with Converge & Lewd Acts . The tour kicks off in NYC on May 6th at Santos Party House. Tickets are $16 and go on sale on Feb. 17th. Heavy Breathing was recorded last year at Kurt Ballou's God City Studios (Converge, Trap Them, Disfear) and this new 10-track disc picks up where Razor to Oblivion [...]
Speaking of knowing how to book a tour, CONVERGE announced they are heading out on a full US run and are bringing various friends to different stops along the way. I guess the band doesn't want to get bored with their company. Either way, after making my favorite album of 2009, this is a [...]

Converge is returning to Tempe on May 19th at The Clubhouse and the Factory Made office is eagerly anticipating their return with a line-up that only Converge could lead. With a lifespan that rivals most bands in the genre Converge has yet to reach their peak as they recently released "Axe to Fall" last year reaching critical acclaim while creating, in my opinion, their best work yet. There are few bands that can tour with Converge and not look completely outmatched; the bill for this tour however seems like a perfect [...]
SWEET. MetalSucks Maniac "mankvill" directed us to this tweet from Coalesce, in which the band - or whomever runs their Twitter account at least - posted the above photo. Converge and Coalesce? And Gaza? I'm not really familiar with Lewd Acts or Black Breach - does that say Black Breach? - but on this bill, I'd [...]

Black Breath has played some well received shows here in NYC over the past few years with the last being a show at The Charleston last June. The band released their debut 12" EP, Razor to Oblivion , in 2008 (on their own Hot Mass Records label) and have recently signed to Southern Lord who has reissued the band's debut EP on CD. This 4-track EP clocks in around the 15 minute mark and it is a solid slab of hardcore punk. There are immediate comparisons to 80's punk bands like Discharge, Minor Threat and [...]
The following reviews were written by Anthony Fantano, and requested by subscribers of his YouTube channel. The views expressed here are opinion, not fact. An opinion is a personal view or attitude. No reason to get upset if you have a differing personal view or attitude.1. Lost Boy- Taste Butter (6) Where some people hear annoying, I hear outgoing. The shrill vocals and amped delivery on "Taste
Back in August I lamented the fact that The Bled signed with haircut-core label Rise Records, home to such "artists" as Attack Attack!, Breathe Carolina, Dance Gavin Dance a whole slew of other bands sure to make you cringe. The move didn't make sense for a band like The Bled with hardcore roots and actual [...]
Ohmylordee, have you heard of Bay Area noise-prog-metallers Name? Most likely you have, as they've been around for a few years and are signed to Translation Loss Records. Whether you have or haven't isn't the issue... it's that they've got a new album coming out in about a month and you ought to pay attention. The [...]
High On Fire Snakes For The Divine Century Media 22 Feb 2010 What they're saying Talking with the guys over at Noisecreep, Matt Pike has implied the new record will be even heaviest yet from High On Fire: "We went a little over-aggressive with the drumming, and me and Jeff [Matz, bassist] collaborated a lot more throughout the songwriting process. We went for [...]
I was a little baffled by the sheer number of comments that were a little baffled by the inclusion of Converge's Axe to Fall on so many MS staffers' year-end lists. I mean, they're Converge. They're just one of those bands that everyone knows are inarguably brilliant... right? Wrong, I guess. There is a contingent of [...]

The year 2009 was, for me (as I'm sure it was for many people) a mixed bag. I've always found New Years Eve a fine time for reflection—or getting wasted, if you're so inclined—and this year is no different. I don't want to fixate on the fact that a new decade is arriving, and I'd rather just look at it through a lighthearted lens. In seriousness, though, the position that I'm finding myself in now is infinitely better than the position I left 2008 in. As always, music plays pretty heavily into my life and my memories—and [...]
Linkin Park are the biggest selling band of this decade, nay, century. That's a statement that really hurts, isn't it. They've sold more records than Metallica, Iron Maiden or even The Beatles. Yes, feel free to weep because there doesn't seem like much to celebrate. Right? WRONG! There really have been some amazing bands, albums and [...]
![Dystopia – "Backstabber" – Life Is Abuse / Misanthropic / Common Cause [Lucky 7-inch #31]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2225277_lg.jpg)
Dystopia: Music, not fashion. I'm a lucky son of a bitch. First, I was fortunate enough to meet a guitar-playin' whiteboy who toted dreds and knew about Dystopia in the first place. Then, their name marinated in the back of my brain as I slowly checked out their peers like Asunder and Yeti . Finally, I saw Dystopia 's self-titled album [Life is Abuse, 2008] - on clear wax - in a record [...]
by Robert Pasbani Here at Metal Injection, seeing as though we are a video site we come across a helluva lot of music videos, most of which are just a band performing in a warehouse with some fancy lighting. It always impresses me when a band takes the time to create awesome visuals to match the [...]
So this was 2009.And what have you done?Another year over,And a new one just begun. What a year, what a year. The final year of the Aughts (or the Naughts, or the 00s, or the iDecade, or whatever we're calling 'em) saw both the return and demise of some old favorites, the introduction of some new classics, a few glimpses at greatness and enough desultory, bottom-dwelling, gutter-sucking
