I have a lot of hip-hop for ya'll today. Here's a mash-up of the Cool Kids vs. Hey Champ, a band that toured with Lupe Fiasco a while back-- they're a rock/pop band but with an electronic-heavy sound. The remix has a really cool vibe, definitely worth the listen if you like the Cool Kids, or more specifically their most recent mixtape, Gone Fishing . It's very refreshing to see the versatility of a young group like Hey Champ . Though their roots lie more in indie-electro music, they don't limit themselves to a singular label or genre. With the newly released single, (We are) Champions, they're dabbling in hip-hop for the first time, and the result is straight dopeness. I'm always surprised to remember how much I like The Cool Kids . There's something about them that definitely reaches out past the average hip-hop bitches and cars rhymes over crappy beats.
