Compared to the power of his will, the enargy mandkind has used to date is no more than puffs of air. But in reality, metallic dragon are all part of the flow the same grate stream." When I first saw a kid in one of the classes I taught holding this white plastic thing, I thought it [...]

Past Is Prologue - Tycho {stay tuned for the /icknick/ remix of this one*} Omstart - Cornelius Winning A Battle, Losing A War - Minizza Samso - Pretty Lights > > <
Onto the tracks then. 1. Romborama (feat. All Leather) The trend and pace setter for the album. Its quite a nice banger, shame about the useless vocals on it, a full instrumental would've done it. Still, quite a great track and fits well as a begginer. 7/10 2. Have Mercy On Us (feat. Cécile) [...]

Filed under: Music Appreciation , UK Welcome to Spinner's UK. We really hope you like what you see. Music's a broad church. Too often barriers are built up -- someone, somewhere makes the decision that if you like British Sea Power you won't like Toots and the Maytals , or if you're into Blur and Oasis you've given up on listening to new stuff, and won't be interested in the wealth of new bands emerging. We don't, because that's not how we feel [...]

Too Many Sebastians went record shopping on Saturday, one of our favourite activities is to go trawling through the record exchanges of London in search of awesome music, but under the priviso of not spending too much (sometimes it's quite hard!). The picture above is our haul, in total we managed to buy six 7' records and two cd's for the amazing total of £10.50. We cannot encourage you enough to go to your local record exchange to search for goodies and if you don't have any record exchanges near you, gather some friends and take a day trip to [...]

Yoko Ono lanzará Between My Head And The Sky el 22 de septiembre, en Chimera Music .
What a ridiculously outlandish album cover. But it matches their beats. And their name. The Bloody Beetroots finally have enough material to put out an album, although rumour has it a lot of the tracks will be made up of the previously released belters from their EPs. The LP is due to be released on August 25th, with guest appearances from the likes of Vicarious Bliss and The Cool Kids. Despite obvious excitement, I think this sort of act is best when they keep their releases short and explosive. Rombo and Cornelius EPs were [...]

For the past few years it has seemed like Matador Records and the 4th of July went hand in hand, with Matador artists normally taking over the wonderful, free River to River show celebrating our Nation's birth. This year instead of one of the brilliant members of the Matador stable we're being given Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band which while exciting and fun is far removed from the usual Matador excitement. Still, this being the 20th anniversary of Matador Records we thought now we would be a good time to look back at the very best records the [...]

Well this is a random one but hey ho! YOKO ONO and CORNELIUS collaborate on this mix of THE SUN IS DOWN taken from the upcoming album Between My Head and the Sky. It kinda falls into the so bad its good category for me! THE SUN IS DOWN ( CORNELIUS MIX)

So I know that the combination of Pheonix and Yuksek got a lot of love not long ago but surely Yoko Ono and Cornelius give P and Y a run for their money as best combo on planet earth? The world's two coolests azns united at last on a quirky, robotronic, erotique, minimalistic, late night burner. I'm possibly more excited than when I found out Bertie Blackman was doing a sneaker set at Parklife. Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band - The Sun Is Down! (Cornelius Mix) [...]

Ouille ! [...]

Cornelius is interesting. For one thing, the soundscapes he creates are so lush and vast that you feel like you’ve been transported to a dense and green tropical jungle. For another, he’s got a real knack for employing untraditional instruments for rhythm purposes, like the hard slap of an acoustic guitar. Also cool, the fact that he pairs more jarring electronic elements against beautiful harmonies. From Wikipedia: The music of Japanese superstar Cornelius could be described as experimental and exploratory, and often incorporates dissonant elements alongside more familiar harmonically "pleasing" sounds. This tension, plus his practice [...]

[Notebook entries, once sentence apiece ...] Wolfmother [visit the site to sign up for the download of the new single "Back Round"] sure was great a couple Fridays ago in the Natural History Museum's Mammals Hall (imagine that), but I was surprised that the set started and ran so late, since the museum's First Fridays events usually wrap up by around 10. ... Speaking of Australians, I hear that SXSW buzz-makers the Temper Trap are signing to Glassnote [...]
Before I mention this week's line-up, I would just like to let everyone know that the Cornelius and Deerhoof show at the Fillmore on Tuesday is cancelled due to...erm.... Swine Flu . But no matter, there's plenty going on this week to keep you occupied. Tonight we've got avant-garde freaks Sleepytime Gorilla Museum at the Great American Music Hall and The Dead (yes, THAT Dead) play the Shoreline Amphitheatre. Monday, Scottish indie pop group The Vaselines hit up Bimbo's 365 and instru-metal band North plays The [...]

MUSIC NEWS - With the summer music festival season upon us, and with the Swine (H1N1) flu risk still increasing in the USA and around the globe, it's time to take stock on what's happened so far in the music biz, especially with the Wanee (Florida), Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam V (New York State) and L.A. Acousic Music (June 6-7) festivals scheduled for this month! In the UK, the Glastonbury festival, and possibly all outdoor music events this summer, may be cancelled and bands are pulling out of gigs. According to reports, [...]
