[If I had time to trawl all the Hollywouldya sites, I'd clue you in on all the Grammy parties you won't see me at. As it is, read about some of them here . Meanwhile, it'll be a busy weekend even without the award-dispensing, or the Garth Brooks birthday party ...] Tonight: What a night to start the weekend — especially on the Eastside. Lady Sovereign has a new album on the way (Spin has a blurb and a stream of the single "So Human" here , [...]
[Birthday greetings go out to Dolly Parton on this holiday Monday ...] Shapes up as a rather light night, concert-wise, unless you like your music free. The three Eastside resident bands are still going strong, and they have some fine guests too. L.A. alt-folk quintet the Amateurs [that's their newish video for "Omaha Nights" above] join the fray at the Echo, where Robert Francis has been doing Mondays and Avi Buffalo and Lex Land also perform. ... Correatown is one of the [...]
Here are the final five artists and bands that were featured here on TheFrontloader.com in 2008. As I said before, all of these artists are worth discovering (or revisiting)... so if you missed them the first time around, here's your chance to catch up! Follow the links to the complete article and show [...]
The first time I saw Angela Correa perform was in 2002 at a San Diego coffee shop called Twiggs. It was a quiet evening of about three performers (including me). I played my set first, then someone else, then Angela. She took the stage in a very unassuming manner… I [...]

LITTLE RADIO and AQUARIUM DRUNKARD have one helluva show tonight downtown: THE EVANGELICALS (brilliant!), GOLDEN ANIMALS (badasss), and THE RINGERS (the new Iggy Pop?). The other really strong choice for the evening is THE MONOLATORS headlining Spaceland with strong support from YOU, ME and IOWA and the lovely music of [...]
Correatown @ Spaceland (5/22/08) Photo By JAX I have a deep seated love for all things Angela Correa - the amazing songstress behind Correatown . Her music is smart, poignant, and perfectly complemented by her sharp-tongued stage banter and sweet-yet-devilish personality. Last night I caught Correatown at Daniel Ahearn 's CD Release Show at The Echo (more on that later). Correatown didn't hit the stage 'til almost midnight because Beck played yet another secret show at The [...]

Angela Correa, from Echo Park, California, records soft, lovely music under the name Correatown . Her EP, Echoes was released January 22, and is like an appetizer of what she will bring on her unreleased full length album. I just heard about her and missed her EP release party last weekend, but she'll play a few shows in the Northwest and Northeast before heading to SXSW . Angela provided the singing voice for Jenna Fischer in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story . See her myspace page for the [...]
[MP3] Correatown - Racing Tides This Saturday I will be DJing and playing bass with The Cobra Lilies at Correatown ' s EP Release Show at pehrspace . Her new EP Echoes is short but sweet and totally worth picking up. Angela Correa has been making music since she was a girl. Her soothing laid back tone can be heard as the singing voice of Jenna Fischer's character Darline in Walk Hard and Correatown has [...]
Echoes is the new EP by Correatown and we're happy to be celebrating its release to the world on 1/26 at pehrspace. Co-produced by Raymond Richards and Angela Correa, the three-song EP is highlighted by the bittersweet "All the World (I Tell Myself)", which is easily one of the best songs of the new year, but any Grey's Anatomy fan could tell you that. What's more significant is that the EP is
We've known Ms. Correatown for a little while now. Long enough to know that while the name "Correatown" may encompass its new band members and a new full-band sound, in truth, it's still all about Angela Correa. We briefly met Lady Angela in passing outside of San Diego's singer-songwriter haven Lestat's when she still lived down there some five years ago. We didn't know much about her until
