By Trevor Meyer Philadelphia two-piece, The Plastic Traps, dropped their debut album, 'Find A Home' in early February, 2012. Reverb-heavy, guitar-driven, and melodically haunting, you've got to give it up for these guys. I'm a softy for two-piece bands, but really these guys are excellent. Give "Corridor" a spin below and also make sure to check out their other material; "Thinking of Something" is my personal favorite. They've got a small resemblance to My Morning Jacket, which is never a bad thing. [...]
This is my first full length album. I wrote all these songs in a period of about 8 months. I recorded/produced all these songs on my own at home. So as you listen to it, pretend like you're hanging out with a punk friend of yours from high school, listening to the album in his messy room, because thats exactly where the album was created. I feel like each song is unique and displays a different side of my personality. I hope that when anyone listens to this album they experience a sense of adventure and nostalgia. The lyrics in [...]
Observer Drift is the appositely hazy moniker of Bloomington, Minneapolis' Collin Ward and Corridors is his first full-length , outed during the opening moments of 2012. If it may have wafted on by discreetly then, here is now and now is time to indulge. Akin to Daniel Bedingfield, he writes quirky pop hits in his bedroom/ basement although that's just about where the similarities end: Ward works in a pizza place while Bedingfield – at least when last spotted – looked as though he'd chomped his way through a fair few, the floor of his 'workspace' potentially lined [...]
grace oh Every rainbow owes its existence to a rain cloud, and that dark space between the two is filled by Corridor's music. As Corridor, Michael Quinn has recently released his second album, Real Late, with Manimal Vinyl. It's heavy, intense stuff that wields a fine metal edge to reveal something beautiful. We went into Quinn's house and sat him on the couch between L.A. RECORD 's Dan Collins and Daiana Feuer to simulate the kind of claustrophobic intimacy that brings human nature bubbling to the surface. [...]
Tweet vaso link Los Angeles' Norse Horse released their Grids EP over the summer, but it didn't come across my screen until it got picked up and released digitally by Polyvinyl. The five song release, clocking in at just under 20 minutes, is the group's first since their 2009 debut, Secret Geographies , and it's a quirky, off-center brand of pop. "Sun Corridor" is the single, but the EP is best digested when taken as [...]
Johnny O'Donnell and Sacramento by Michele McManmon The night air buzzed around The Echo Thursday evening as a celebration of Johnny O'Donnell's EP release "Masquerade" on White Noise was about to kick off. The evening held an eclectic line up of unique bands with different sounds. Die hard music lovers stayed the whole night and the short attention span LA crowd floated in and out like flies throughout the night. Head bopping and cat calls gave the bands some deserved appreciation throughout the night. The room slowly began to [...]
VIDEO PREMIERE: CORRIDOR "PIECES OF WORK"
I often feel engulfed by flames—in a good way—listening to Corridor's music. This video by Burke Roberts provides plenty of fiery tunnel vision and kaleidoscopic tree limb synapses as "Corridor" Quinn's torso hovers over mud-covered girls in computer flesh. Here, he's bigger than a mountain, hotter than a sunbeam. As we're engulfed by a portal of bodies, Corridor's somber tones deliver empowering doom feelings. As always, one bows down in awe of Quinn's pecs, I mean, robust, delicious, music. —Daiana Feuer

CORRIDOR: REAL LATE
CORRIDOR Real Late Manimal When I received the new CD by Multi-instumentalist Michael Quinn, AKA Corridor, I knew that I'd have to listen to it at least ten times before giving my true opinion. His music tends to improve with each listen. Corridor's music is dense, in a good way, full of virtuosic instrumentation that is played deliberately dark. This is not lightweight pop. He's the only cellist in rock and roll whose performances are worthy of playing air cello to. He's truly an artist whose [...]

For anyone who had the pleasure of trolling through the gems on last year's David Bowie tribute album, We Were So Turned On , you might have stumbled across Corridor's (stage name for LA-Seattle multi-instrumentalist Michael Quinn) ostentatious cover of "Be My Wife" off his mind blowing 1977 release Low .
