Courtney Love is apparently quitting music after her forthcoming album Nobody's Daughter comes out, if this Nylon TV clip—which includes a snippet of the album's title track and her talking about how she watched her former husband, Kurt Cobain, write "Dumb" in five minutes—is to be believed. Sadly, "vlogging" is not on the list of things she says she might do once she gives up the whole music-business ghost, but perhaps we should just give it time. So Ryan Adams has sort of responded to Courtney Love's accusation that his album Rock N Roll was recorded with $868,000 of Francis Bean Cobain's money , posting a "personal statement of clarity" on his Web site that talks about how he's working hard to become a better person, how he regrets his past mistakes, etc., etc. (There's also a peace card linked in the source code of the page, but it's not visible.) So, when I blog, I get my news from wherever I can. I like reporting on music, and the events that affect the bands. I try really hard to keep things relevant, yet impersonal. I really don't care about fights (Kele vs. Lydon, etc) or marriages, or kids, or partying. I want to know when I can hear the new Faint album and how much it rocks. She's being sued by London & Co , who claims she owes them a million dollars following the sale of her share of Nirvana's back catalogue. They had, the claim, an oral contract with Courtney - which, we'd suggest would be about as watertight as a paperbag oiltanker - to get five per cent of any income the catalogue generated; they reckon they were due a million bucks as a result of it. Please? Courtney Love is being sued by London & Co for non payment of services rendered, after selling some of Nirvana's discog. Love, the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, sold a portion of the catalogue for $19.5 million last year. London was hired to provide business management services to Love and was to be paid 5% of the revenues received by Love, according to the lawsuit. Isn't there a conspiracy [...]
