Don't sleep on this one folks. Give a listen to the track above — the lead single from Christopher Paul Stelling's second album False Cities — and I seriously doubt you'd be ready for sleeping, anyway. The second album from Brooklyn-based troubadour comes just over a year after his impressive debut Songs of Praise and Scorn . Stelling's latest effort once again finds the protagonist of his songs dancing the line between intensely determined (see "Brick x Brick" ; "Every Last Extremist" [...]

Dallas' own Preteen Zenith and the Yours Truly crew piled into a cramped, steamy Triplex one ridiculously hot afternoon last summer here in Dallas, TX, just one day prior to the band's first-ever show, at the inaugural GvsB Fest . As you can see, it got kind of trippy in there. " Relief " is on Preteen Zenith's debut LP, which is out now. You can listen to the whole thing here , and check Tim Delaughter's letter for YT here .

The Mean Season is an indie folk/rock trio from Washington D.C. in the USA. CP, GiGi, and Mathias are set to release their eponymous EP today - 24th April 2012. The Mean Season Unlike the band name would suggest, The Mean Season actually deliver a sound which is more akin to that of late spring evenings. The material is highly reflective and somewhat melancholic, whilst simultan eously warming. Gently rolling guitar and drums provide a layer of soft grass on which the vocal emerges as though flowers [...]
In the NME last week, Pete Doherty made some large claims about the night that Mark Blanco died . It was a bit odd that the paper didn't attempt to push him a bit - particularly, on the idea that the Met Police has a video which shows Blanco falling to his death which clears him. It was even more surprising that, having gifted a large chunk of space for Pete to put his case, the NME didn't bother to contact either the Met or the Blanco family to put a counterpoint. You know, [...]

.CP Merry Christmas. .CP - Can’t Get You Out Of My Head

This week has been pretty epic for me in terms of parties and events here in NYC. Two nights ago I ended up at 31 denim’s SoHo store - at 15 Mercer - for what, I believe, was their opening, or launch event. I got a text from the friend who invited me to: “meet there”, so I had no idea what it was about until we arrived, other than it being a party. As soon as we turned the corner onto Mercer from Grand, we could see a flock of people in front of the place, and immediately assumed [...]

Love is defined differently by others. My idea of love is in a different language than yours... Loving someone literally means loving them in the various and sometimes endless ways they expect to be loved. That in itself requires a detailed understanding of the individual on hand. It means that you have to decipher how that person likes to be loved amongst a long list of other things that must be decoded, otherwise, they won’t be able to appreciate the way you love anyhow. Love is a different language, unique to everyone. How could the world communicate if [...]
It came a little late in the process, but the Crown Prosecution Service have dropped a case against two men accused of running a film 'piracy' website in Bristol . The Telegraph says: The Crown Prosecution Service told Bristol Crown Court today it would not proceed with the trial following legal advice that the alleged copyright infringements were a civil rather than a criminal matter, a spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Police said. Not guilty verdicts were recorded. It appears the CPS had not really bothered to do much research into the case, relying instead on [...]
