The Grammys are this Sunday and if memory serves me right, the general sentiment is kind of "blah" compared to previous years. It use to be an honor to perform, but now you have artists declining (Bon Iver) the opportunity. Adele will win > 2 Grammys and the Beach Boys playing with Foster the People smells kind of desperate. Who knows, Katy Perry might actually go home with an award or Skrillex might be selected as Best New Artist? Kaskade // Deadmau5 - Move For Me (TABS Remix) [...]

There's going to be a party everywhere. Options are neverending and one of our Interweb friends, Swaager, will be having a "drink and drown" type of soiree at Beauty Bar tomorrow night that will feature DJ Vajra, Cobraconda and Prince Paul. Advance tickets are $20 and $30 at the door here . Stay safe and have fun. Coldplay - Every Teardrop is a Waterfall (Project 46 Remix) Miike Snow "Devil's Work" (Bailey Smalls Remix) Someone Like You - Adele - NEMnation RMX [...]

Tonight is the Denver AFTERDARK Music Festival and the last interview that we have is with Alert from the Whomp Truck. You won't be able to miss the Whomp Truck tonight and we wanted to chop it up with Alert to see what Whomp Truck is all about and what we can expect from them this evening. See you at the 2700 block of Larimer tonight. If you haven't purchased your tickets, you can do so here . Q: How did Whomp Truck start? "Ben Travis, who [...]

People have been doing shows outside for years. What has changed that in the span of a couple of weeks that there have been multiple accidents? The weather plays a large part, but does the stage construction have anything to do with the accidents? My heart goes to the families affected by such tragedies and hopefully such accidents won't happen with such high frequency. Rubblebucket-Down in the Yards (Alex Toth Remix) The Ting Tings - Hands (Flat Black Remix) Dada Life - White Noise [...]

I was very disappointed with the beginning of this season's "Curb Your Enthusiasm." It almost felt like Larry David was sending it in this season, but these last several episodes have nailed it every time. I have been guilty of the "chat and cut" on numerous occasions. It's just nice to know that the stealth move has a name. Maybe it always had a name, and I didn't know. As far as "Entourage" is concerned, it has brought nothing to the table and at this point, I too am going through the motions. I've invested too much [...]

Next Thursday will mark the first Global Dance Festival that I've ever attended. The only thing I can think of most is catching Empire of the Sun. The part concert, part Cirque de Soleil act has me drawn like a mosquito to an overweight person in the dead of summer. I'm kind of bummed that the show is only one hour, however the rest of the lineup seems kind of hit or miss. It will be my first Red Rocks show this year and wondering if I should bring my glowsticks? [...]

So scenesters and hipsters everywhere are agreeing that R'n'b is, in fact, no longer a dirty word… thanks, in part, to the arrival of The Weeknd. That said, the dubstep and garage scene have had a long-standing affair with R'n'B vocals; and, more recently, house producers have also kindled a certain fondness for the sexy and sleazier side of pop (Lee Foss and Hot Creations, anyone?). And it is perhaps this coupling of soul and dubstep arrangement that makes The Weeknd so appealing. House of Balloons is the debut of Toronto-based Abel [...]

The recent news about Coachella making the festival over two weekend has me curious for a number of reasons. Aside from the money aspect, the only other reason I could see them making the festival two weekends is for the sheer fact that there's such a strong Latino presence Indio that they could fuse some big name acts and blend them in with electronic acts or use some bigger acts that would normally play on top 40 stations across the country. The "jumping the shark" factor comes to mind, and does making the festival over two weekends [...]

The Nuggets season ended with a thud earlier this week. The OKC Thunder are a great young team and they deserved to win. However, what did bother me is the influence and ability the refs have to sway any game. This practice is more prevalent in the NBA. At one point in the last game of the DEN-OKC series, Durrant clearly had his foot on the half-court line and not only did the refs reverse the call, but gave the ball back to OKC. Westbrook, Harden and Durrant got most of their calls when they hit the [...]

The NBA playoffs continue are two things have become evident. The East will be represented by either Chicago or Miami and the West could be represented by new blood. The only commanding performance being put on in the West is by the Thunder. KD is a part of a two-man wrecking crew and his unselfish play is highly contagious making the Thunder one of the most exciting teams in the NBA. Their crowds are reminiscent of a high school playoff basketball game that has the entire crowd decked out in school pride. I can only hope that [...]

Halloween weekend is here and like everywhere else, I'm sure there's a ton of parties going on tonight and tomorrow. For those of you locals here's your best bets this weekend. Tonight, Devotchka will be doing their annual Halloween show up in Boulder with Snake Rattle Rattle Snake. Saturday, the Voodoo Ball will be at the Meadowlark with one of the best lineups that features all local artists ranging from Woodsman to Hollogramz. Sunday (Halloween Proper) will bring the music to Colfax. Haunted Forest Halloween Crazy Show features Hot White, Fellow Citizens, Gauntlet Hair, [...]

Jimmy Fallon is this year's Emmy Awards host. It got me thinking about how funny TV can be and how I've abandoned most TV watching (except for the shows I watch on HBO religiously, i.e. "Hard Knocks", "Hung" etc...). I'm dying for the new season of TV to start. I miss new episodes of "30 Rock" and "Parks and Rec". The promise of new television programming is unveiled every Fall, and of most shows that are to premiere, the AMC program, " the Walking Dead" , looks extremely promising. From what I can gather from the [...]

I've started narrowing down my fantasy football RB's and QB's. I've brushed up on some sleeper picks and this year, the prize is MINE! I've been playing copious amounts of Madden 11 on the PS3 and football season is around the bend. My hunger for football at this point is so bad that I've actually been watching pre-season football. I've only had one favorite football team all of my life. I've been a Broncos fan since I was five. That's not changing, however, Shanahan coaching with the Redskins has pushed me to go out on a limb [...]

Football season is looming around the corner. Training camp for rookies started in most places and it got me thinking, "This is the year I win my Fantasy Football League". The last couple of years I've come in second and third respectively. The year I came in second, I was SUPPOSE TO HAVE WON $150. Not a lot of money, but a deal is a deal. The commissioner of our league claimed to have had his house broken into and had the money stolen. Nobody got payed and we all got swindled. The funny thing [...]
