The strange ways in which music moves in and out of life and memory means that up until about three weeks ago I thought the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young song 'Our House' was a bespoke recording for a Halifax advertisement that came on TV at the start of my teens. Similarly, when people say nowadays that Jona Lewie's 'Stop the Calvary' brings on thoughts of Christmas, I don't fully share the feeling because more primal memories burble up, linked [...]

Yesterday we were treated to the newest album from John Mayer titled, "Born and Raised" . I'm a big fan of John Mayer and have been waiting for this release for a long time now. This album is a bit of a wild card when it comes to John Mayer . This newest record really is a collection of all his best sounds. All the John Mayer albums, in my opinion, have only [...]

A lama, a [...]

Recorded just three weeks after the fact, it was pressed to single and rushed to radio stations with the B-Side Find The Cost of Freedom.

We keep our eyes peeled for new tour dates announcements each week and compile them on Tuesdays for this handy column… With the status of Buffalo Springfield's reunion tour up in the air, we're staying optimistic that iconic band does live up the rumored promise of more dates. One of the band's founding members - Stephen Stills - has made plans to hit the road this fall. Stills, who holds the distinction of being the only artist to be inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame twice in the same night, and will be [...]

I saw Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young the night in 1974 that Nixon resigned. I was working nights at Pathmark that summer and watching the Watergate hearings during the day. I got tickets for Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City for August 8 with no idea of what that day would turn out to be. As I remember it, just before the show started, Graham Nash walked out on stage and announced that “it's all over,” Nixon had resigned. The concert turned into a tremendous celebration complete with fireworks. There are groups from the 702s [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News "It's like Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young , and Deacon here," joked Deerhunter 's Bradford Cox at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago on Sunday during the last night of the illustrious "No Deachunter" round robin tour. Indeed, Dan Deacon 's presence was a force to be reckoned with throughout the final show, but the real story that had fans talking was whether or not No Age guitarist Randy Randall would be able to play given his shoulder dislocation during [...]
