There's a tour in September which brings together The Mission, The Cult and Killing Joke. Or at least, there's supposed to be. The whole thing is looking a bit sick now. The inaugural Firefly Festival in Dover Delaware proved to be nothing short of amazing. It was everything I imagined a music festival to be. Kicking off on Friday July 20th, and continuing through Sunday night July 22nd, the festival included artists such as Cake, Modest Mouse, The Killers, Lupe Fiasco, and much more. It made sense that just before Cults began to play their sunny, throwback retro-pop, the sun came out at Union Park. The Brooklyn group certainly has grown a lot since I last seen them two years ago, when they were still the mystery buzz band with just a few songs to their name and their live show is still as fun as ever. Madeline Follin's still a pleasure to watch, swaying in her low-cut dress and ruby red lip stick stage and her vocal presence seems have definitely improved, especially on the powerful soul-pop of "You Know What I Mean". Today, I'm going to either acquaint or reacquaint you with three other "smaller" bands playing at Firefly. All of them are rightfully on my list of artists to see at the festival. Lord Huron , the local indie-rock band fronted by Michigan native Ben Schneider, has signed to L.A.-based IAMSOUND Records . Lord Huron's debut album "Lonesome Dreams" will be out Oct. 9.
