Tune-Yards It only made sense for Cut Chemist to open for Merrill Garbus aka tUnE-yArDs at The Music Box since Garbus will be on his upcoming album. Photo by Philip Cosores When Cut Chemist opened for tUnE-yArDs on Wednesday at the Music Box in Hollywood (full review of the show coming in a couple hours), the DJ explained the connection to the headliner, noting that they had collaborated on his yet to be released album and that both were loopers. So, it was not a complete surprise to be Cut Chemist join tUnE-yArDs onstage for a scratchy and loopy rendition of "Gansta," from this year's excellent W H O K I L L .
