Cyanide Valentine heeft een nieuw album uit. Luisterbeurt één: twee hitjes. Luisterbeurt twee: drie hitjes. Bij de vierde luisterbeurt komt er weer eentje bij, en zo voort en zo voort en uiteindelijk is het een album dat beter wordt naarmate je er meer naar luistert. Een korte beschrijving van hun muziek: The Cyanide Valentine are a four piece indie/electronic/lo-fi/space-r ock/dance/funk/folk outfit from Boston. There is no reason people all over the world shouldn't be listening to these guys. Zo. En wie hun muziek gratis online zet is een fucking eindbaas dus [...]

This landed in my inbox ages ago, and has fermented there long enough! The Cyanide Valentine , who are certainly less emo than they sound as they are not emo at all, are rather an electronic group of some sort. As you can tell, my knowledge of electronic music is truly astounding. Regardless of my inability to write in the manner befitting of a proper review, these are some good songs, and I've posted my favorite tracks from their album, The Three Sides Of The Cyanide Valentine . Neanderthals is a great song in [...]
The Cyanide Valentine seems to me to be made up of equal parts indie/dance/electronica, The Kinks, and sublime acoustic guitar pop. On some songs they spice life up a bit with a dash of Flaming Lips whimsy, but their bread and butter technique appears to be combining classic sounds with modern technology. From start to finish on their 2007 album, The Three Sides of the Cyanide Valentine ( free download on their website ), they take you through a lackadaisical journey that is as relaxed as it is polished. Each and every track is great. mp3 : [...]
Absolut beeindruckend, was die Bostoner The Cyanide Valentine (der Name spricht Bände) hier verschenken. Worum geht es? Überaus subtilen und wunderschönen Electronica Indiepop mit einer ganzen Reihe von feingestrickten Perlen auf ihrem neuen Album "The three Sides of Cyanide Valentine".
The Cyanide Valentine hail from the US, city of Boston. They create a blend of very strange acoustic sounds and experimental electro. The beauty and the beast, ha! The vocals are like from Radiohead or Spiritualized and the guy+girl together reminds me of Arcade Fire. They even go as far as Sufjan Stevens-like folkish stuff. Their second record is downloadable from their site for free which is really nice: http://cyanidevalentine.com/ I chose two songs from the album, they are my favourites. The first one has an amazing title: [...]
Who: The Cyanide Valentine from Boston. What: From a band that swears they are not 'emo' (as their name would indicate), I hear a wide array of electronic sounds backing some pretty catchy melodies. Download their record " The 3 Sides Of Cyanide Valentine " from their homepage . Song: Neanderthals ( download here ). If the vocals don't get you during the verse, wait for that killer chorus.
Here's some vaguely goth-inflected electropop to kick off your weekend, from The Cyanide Valentine, on their 2007 release The Three Sides of the Cyanide Valentine, which you can download all for free and stuff. The Cyanide Valentine - Nosferatu The...
Another band who contacted us, The Cyanide Valentine hail from Boston. They strike a good balance of rock and electronics. They've been compared to bands like Primal Scream and I can see that. They can go from a slow rock track with whispered vocals to thumping electronic grooves and back again rather quickly. I dig it and I think you will too. Here are a couple of my favorite tracks from 'The Three Sides of the Cyanide Valentine'. If you like what you hear go [...]
Cyanide Valentine have got an album out that is not emo as their name suggests, and as they themselves suggest to de-suggest. So no emo I suppose. Though they do have a fallback plan in that. It's a good album, it's free so it can't hurt to download and check out. The vocals do seem amiss [...]
I've been exceptionally boring and lazy this week, which is to say: I don't really have anything new or exciting to talk about today. Well, except for these two songs: MP3: Hadouken! - Get Smashed Gate Crash (YSI) MP3: Cajun Dance Party - The Race (YSI) New Hadouken! track of their forthcoming LP Music For An Accelerated Culture, which will be out sometime soon and new Cajun Dance Party track,

"Nooooooooo!" she exclaimed. My mother was petrified. In all my 22 months of existence, I had never seen her so petrified before. I mean, there was this one time I picked up my brother's 3-foot long samurai sword because my Sgt Slaughter action figure needed a new weapon ever since I stuffed his plastic AK47 into my gerbil's butt (critter wasn't exercising). So my mum was chopping vegtables, and saw me pick it up, and said, "Son, please watch the vase. And you do like capsicums, right love?" I nodded. But somehow, it was different this [...]

Lost In Your Inbox tipped me off that Boston based Cyanide Valentine has released their latest LP as a free download. I must admit that I wasn't expecting much - what kind of band gives their records away? Apparently a pretty damn good one.
OK, I know I'm jumping the gun here, but this is so beautiful that I have to share it with you. The band is The Cyanide Valentine and their music is a dreamy blend of electronic and acoustic sounds with soaring male/female vocals. It's yummy. I realize I'm not giving you very much to go on here, but I think you'll find it perfect Sunday listening at the very least. They've very generously offered up their latest release, The Three Sides of the Cyanide Valentine , [...]
Chances are 2008 is going to be the year of the free album. Makes sense when you think about it. No point in having the best unknown band on the planet, in the early days at least it is all about getting your music out there and if that means giving your goods away for free then so be it. Think about it what great business idea makes money straight away? There is an expectation that the profit
Ah, free albums. They are a pure thing of beauty. To listen to the material in its entirety you are not even forced to dish out cash, make a trip to one of the few remaining quality record stores, or engage in a gruesomely awkward conversation with the middle-aged dude behind the counter. Click, extract, listen; it is a great convenience that capitalizes on our technological age, even if it makes us more immobile and economically stupefied in the process. Better yet, some of these free releases are actually worthwhile. I say this because, simply put, many free albums are [...]
