First up, Noah and the Whale .. my only engagement with these characters has been through that cutesy track about having Fun Fun Fun in the Sun or whatever. Well, they've dropped two remixes our way from serial-pest Death to the Throne and Yacht . All of what I stated in my previous post about the Ministry of Sound's "Underground 2009" release remains true for the first 2 discs. However, the third cd delivers a fantastic collection of tech house tracks that are mixed surprisingly well. The mix begins with some nice minimal tech from Tiefscwharz, moving into an excellent track from Pig & Dan , Hope . Prototypical tech house here, with tendencies towards a minimal sound; a delayed chord stab and rhythm track eventually coalesce into a techno riff while percussive sounds pan in time to the beat.
