Now he has been kind enough to release another stellar tune, "Museum of Flight," which is incredibly endearing and had me hooked immediately. Check out the new song below and if you like it, download it - it's that easy folks.

If you have clicked through to read the rest of this post, then you should consider yourself in the upper echelon of human beings. Ok, that was a bit much, but Damien Jurado is the man and now we have a brand new single to prove it. Jurado released a sampling of his upcoming album Maraqopa called "Nothing is News" that you can take for a spin below, but be careful because although it starts slow by the end there is an excessive amount of guitar crushing. Also, why not check out the trailer for [...]
Damien Jurado Album: Maraopa (2/21) Label: Secretly Canadian Damien Jurado - Nothing is the News Tweet
Damien Jurado is nothing if not prolific, and shows no signs of slowing any time soon. He's just announced his tenth studio album, Maraqopa out February 21st on Secretly Canadian . Of note, it continues the recent musical partnership with Richard Swift, who recorded the record live to tape and produced it at his Cottage Grove-based National Freedom studios. The first taste, "Nothing is the News," is a mini-epic, teased with bits of psychedelia throughout, and stands apart stylistically from anything Jurado's done in the past. It'd be a surprise if last year's [...]

Each week, we bring you some new releases or songs that we think have flown under the radar. Frankly, we've been slacking lately and focusing on big name interviews. It's time to get down to basics and find some great new bands. This weekly feature has brought you bands like The Boxer Rebellion, Warpaint, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and some other bands that are now heralded by the mjaro music mags as the next big thing. TDOA readers are always ahead of the curve. Here's this weeks' dose. Who are [...]
Today it's about classic hard rock through Damien, a band från Lund. And hard rock then in a way it was played in the first half of the eighties before the poodles arrived. Lots of guitars, a good rock drive, football choirs, nice melodies and a female singer with a strong voice, Michelle. You can find Damien on Myspace . Here are two tracks: Rock or Die We Are the Kids

Download Zip File 1. The Fall - Cowboy George ( Domino ) This is another track from the best album of the year thus far. For all the people who thought Mark E Smith was a spent force (and they do exist) this record mus be a real smack in the teeth. "Our Future Your Clutter" will be available from [...]
Corrr, I tell you what: after a few spins, the new Four Tet album has revealed itself to be a really lovely album. A coiling, Mobius-strip album of sauna-warmth, tangerine-orange sunset glare and organic beauty. It's Snivilisation -era Orbital crossed with any-era Boards of Canada crossed with golden, gloopy warmth. Listening to it is like having a hundredweight of warm, golden, microscopically-granulated mica poured over your naked body; glistening, silver, dazzling, dense. Well, follow that , Damien*. It's true that superlatives have been bandied [...]

Without trying to find excuses or cause to justify keeping the lid screwed on regular band updates, i can often be heard mumbling incoherently while meandering through stacks of quality Indie-Pop. I posted two Damien* tracks towards the end of 2009 as taster for the `Crippled Cute` album release, their promo train is picking up the pace for UK and worldwide digital releases early March. Two London shows for February seem perfect timing for marvellous Indie motivated power chords and mayhem. 25th Feb 20:00 The Monarch, Club Fandango [...]

"Confidants" is the 1st single from Crippled Cute, the new album from the Italian trio named as Damien*. The video above was filmed in an old country house in the San Leo castle village... **Summary** Go to website for downloads, videos & more.
I love this track "Confidants" by Damien*. It's a catchy Strokesesque head bopping song with elements of britpop splashed in there. With how much Julian Casablancas I've been listening to lately, this song fell into my lap at the perfect time. Damien* - Confidants http://www.myspace.com/weareda mien http://www.damienlive.com/

We've dished out quite a bit of content this week, so I suppose I'll get to the music list early. If you're just tuning in, I've switched up the way these Radio Dick posts go, attempting to offer a little more commentary on the tracks I'm posting. This week, I've got an interesting mix of material from around the globe. The scene's been a tad quiet with all of the madness going on at CMJ. Hopefully, our writer James, who just spent the week rambling around NYC, will hit you with any coverage he was able to either 1) document, [...]

Once more, here is October's edition of the Music Alliance Pact . For those of you who don't know about MAP, it's a collection of music blogs from around the world who band together once a month to shed light on up-and-comers from their home countries. It's sort of like the WTO without the human rights violations. This month we've welcomed one new country: Estonia !. This edition showcases 34 tracks from bands around the world and marks the one-year anniversary since IGIF's inaugural edition of MAP debuted [...]

The Music Alliance Pact is a collective of 34 of the world's top music blogs and webzines from 34 countries spanning six continents.
