Debtors Union, a new band featuring former members of Long Island acts Crime in Stereo, Divider, the Ambition and Robbers, have unveiled a first song. You can stream "A Damn Shame" at their Facebook page . The band cites acts like Hot Water Music, As Friends Rust and Strike Anywhere as influences. The song is culled from the band's forthcoming EP, Tonight We Feel Alive , expected out later this year.

Well, erm, Thursday should be fun. This weekend was somewhat written off, after an apocalyptic drinking session on Saturday took its terrible revenge on Sunday, rendering most of the day a ruin apart from shitty movies and too much Chinese takeaway. To everyone who came round to the house on Saturday, I apologise. It was a fucking good party, though. Our next door neighbour seems to have the habit of opening a window and playing terrible music as soon as we go out in the back garden, which is both tedious and foolish. Foolish because our stereo can [...]
Winning Sperm Party is a relatively new (at least in terms of me finding out about it) blog/label that dedicates itself to championing the ever burgeoning wealth of great Scottish music at the moment. What i find particularly inspiring about it is there approach of visiting the best of these bands every month and helping them record an EP that they then release as a free download via their website . Releasing music this way is always going to be far cooler and more fun than signing a record deal. So far, Winning Sperm Party's [...]
Myspace // "Fear of Assault" [mp3] Damn Shames are a three piece from Edinburgh that play a high octane brand of electro-punk. With yelping vocals over squealing guitars and electrified drums, the young band is probably best described as a cross between Klaxons and Clor on speed. Damn Shames cut their teeth playing small shows in the northern United Kingdom before being noticed by Luke Smith of Clor who offered to re-record their demos. They signed to Abeano/XL Recordings not long thereafter, two labels with some [...]

Hey Hey! . It seems Bloc Party's recent new track, "Flux", is a positive change of direction for the band, well according to you lot! A staggering 83% voted in favour of the song. It will be interesting to see how future material from the band shapes up. . Please let me know who your favourite Artist and/or Album was of 2007 by using the comment box on the [...]
I was emailed this track by Big Face back in May, and it was one of those things I had every intention of posting up here, but never quite got round to. I then got another email about the band last week, for it seems they have a single coming out on Kitsune. Now the single's pretty good in an electro-ey guitar band way, and is backed with some nice remixes from David E Sugar & Data.... but I much

Damn Shames (no 'The', fyi) are a three piece from Edinburgh producing a convincing blend of post-Liars teenage post-punk/funk. Now you could argue of course that we already have a Liars, and we already have our fair share of post-punk and punkfunk revivalists about, but then on the other hand people might argue that you can never get too much of a good thing. It's not all great, sometimes sounding a bit too Klaxony, but elsewhere there's some nice dashes of individuality. The mix is acerbic and snappy, and it's amateurish enough to be endearing. They're also all only about [...]
