Sun is shining in Germany like 24 degrees shining...I had assumed this just didn't happen in Germany, its nice to be proven wrong. I find that when listening to rap which makes a social comment we sometimes assume that we are making a mistake if we don't pay close attention to the lyrics (even if we can't relate to them). Remixes like this help ease any self-imposed guilt, the undeniably catchy soul flavour to this remix is your green flag to zone out. I picture BBQ's and that's because it has such an easy going style not [...]

Hljómsveitin FM Belfast gaf út myndband við lagið Stripes" um helgina og hefur því, sögn aðstandenda, verið tekið með dansi og almennri gleði um víða veröld". Steinar Júlíusson leikstjóri myndbandsins skapar skemmtilega stemmningu í pappakassa sem er á floti úti á hafi. I've always had a soft spot for Fiona Apple. Maybe it's because my parents forbade me from watching MTV as a child because of this famous music video , or perhaps it's because I tend to enjoy very odd people... Either way, the Apple is back and I'm liking what I'm hearing. Check out "Every Single Night" below, and look for her new album this June entitled The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver of The Screw And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do... so odd, I love it.

I'm having a little trouble wrapping my head around this... Indie band The Morning Benders have changed their name to Pop Etc. This morning, the band explained to its fans via twitter that while touring the U.K last year they learned the term "bender" is a gay slur used in some parts of Europe. Lead singer Christopher Chu writes, "We were told our band name was the equivalent of 'The Morning Fags' in America." Although I understand the band has every right to change their name, I think it is rather unfortunate that words and their meanings were ultimately [...]

I'm really digging this new track from Bravestation. Hailing from Canada, the band refers to their songs as "quirky tribal pop tunes." I couldn't agree more. In fact, they remind me a bit of Yeasayer. Head on over the bandcamp to snag this track. Be sure to check out their 2010 EP as well. MP3: Bravestation: Signs Of The Civilized
Rather than looking up at the sky and conjuring images of the endless void of space which, by its nature, makes you feel microscopic and as insignificant as any further Guns and Roses albums imagine yourself at the head of a magnificent spaceship made solely out of brass instruments and skittles.

Here's a great one for a faux summer day. The Band is Bombay Bicycle Club. The song is Shuffle. I have it on repeat. Enjoy.
What a wonderful day. The weather is beautiful here in Boston, and Beach House is back with an equally beautiful song. The band may or may not have a new album due out this May (has yet to be confirmed by their label). Are you as excited as I am?

Since his days leading Nickel Creek , virtuoso Chris Thile has been my pied piper. Seriously, this guy could jump off a cliff and I would follow as long as he kept picking away at that little mandolin... Before I get too carried away (man crush ACTIVATED) check out this track off of the latest release from them Punch Brothers. Purchase the album here . Listen on SoundCloud

Robin Pecknold uploaded a new demo to his personal Soundcloud page today saying, "New demo, new song. Sadsack mode. Will probably change." Someone must have had a rough Valentine's Day...

For those of you who've given up listening to incredible remixes for Lent this year... shield your ears because these two are real doozies. Also stop scratching your forehead, you're making the already unrecognizable cross of ashes look like a dirty birthmark. Can't argue with a little folk rock from fellow Bostonians. A friend recently introduced me to these guys, and I haven't looked back since. Be sure to check out the band's debut album out this tuesday (the perfect Valentines Day gift for your music loving lover?), and until then visit bandcamp to hear a wonderful sample of what's to come.

The moment Lady Danville's "Operating" came on my shuffle this morning, I knew it was going to be a feel-good Friday. Since that moment, I've perfectly balanced my Halo slaying with the cleaning I promised myself I would do today. Success (and sword base) never tasted so sweet. Be sure to drop some love on the band's facebook page , and remember to have yourself a most wonderful weekend.

Like something out of a Wes Anderson film, this new song from Princeton has had me daydreaming for nearly a day. The band's new album (Also titled Remembrance Of Things To Come ) is due out February 21st. Between these syncopating strings and easy going vocals, I don't see my dream ending anytime before then... ("and the pass is... caught! Touch down Bills!!! TOUCH DOWN BILLS!!! The Buffalo Bills are Superbowl Champions!!!"... sigh) MP3: Princeton: Remembrance Of Things To Come

Fun Fact of the Day: Miike Snow wrote Britney Spear's uber hit "Toxic." Once you've come back down from being blown away by such an amazing Fun Fact of the Day, check out this equally awesome track off of the band's next album Happy To You out March 27th. Also, how creepy are those twins... Listen on SoundCloud

I happen to be a huge fan of the masterpiece that is R. Kelly's "Real Talk," (if you've never seen the video , you're missing out big time) so you can imagine the excitement I felt this morning when I found this little gem in my inbox. And now a quote from a true lyrical genius. "You gon burn what? Bitch I wish you WOULD burn my motha fuckin' clothessss" -R. Kelly Listen on SoundCloud

I sure love this new song from White Rabbits and its interesting use of looping backwards pianos. The band's new album entitled Milk Famous (killer name) is due out March 6th. Check check check it out below. Listen on SoundCloud
